Treylon Burks

I started a post several weeks ago. Really like the player, although I know he is going to need development. Him and Lamb in the open field would be fun to watch. Kind of like those 2 receivers in SFO.

Do you all think he will make it to 24. Another player the Eagles might draft with their 3 picks.

Usually we agree Willie, and i could actually see this happening, and i do like the player, but i would pass on him. Unless far and away highest ranked player left on the board. Just way too many holes in more important positions.

So body-wise, Treylon fits on the same sort of spectrum as Dez and the late, great Demaryius Thomas. Just a giant 230 lb ball of muscle heading downfield. AJ Brown is kind of the modern version.

All 3 of those guys have below-average change of direction, and Dez and DT were both poor route runners (Brown is pretty good). They are pretty linear, but what set them apart was they all had just stupid plant-and-go burst. They catch the ball, and then they're like tackling a power back cutting into the hole. CBs just get shrugged off and safeties start blowing angles when they get upfield.

Treylon is about as fast as I thought he'd be, he's about as stiff as I thought he'd be, but he's not as explosive as I thought he would be. His jumps are about like AJ Brown's, so not necessarily disqualifying, but a little worrying.

That 0 to 60 burst opens up the underneath changeup to his vertical fastball, like DT's bubble screens or Dez's life-ender slants. If Treylon's just a big straight-line buildup guy who really only throws vertical fastballs, he projects closer to Allen Robinson or Mike Williams. More of a complementary WR2 than a WR1.

I don't think he'll bust though. I'd still take Burks 1st round in either case, and he's going to make a lot of money in the NFL. But it's more like can Burks be a Coop replacement WR1, or is he a Gallup replacement WR2.

Many sites have him in our range and didn't have a great combine.
It looks like the Cowboys are bringing Gallup back. I don’t think they will draft Burks. They will probably draft one in the 3rd through 5th rounds.

Hard pass at 24…

Almost all of his production was quick passes behind the LOs and go routes. Has miles to go as a route runner and his calling card was supposed to be his athleticism but post combine that’s looking average.
Look what he did against Bama. He is going to be a beast

I am not going to say we wont draft him at 24 but the board must be wiped clean for us to draft him .

I hope so, I don’t Dallas would draft any of those three.

Dallas would likely have interest in two of those guys - Linderbaum and Johnson. They'd be foolish not to. Really foolish to take Burks over those two as well.
