Tribute to Bill Parcells (...the Tuna)

Bill Parcells is a HoF Coach.

It is indeed unfortunate to see him retire from professional football coaching.

I've had time to read several threads on several football message boards (Eagles, Giants, Commanders, including the Cowboys). I've listened to ESPN and Sports Analysts, neighbors and friends. Now that I've had time assimilate the information, I still say that Bill Parcells would not have retired if T.O. would not have come to the Dallas Cowboys.

We may never know, unless Bill Parcells writes a book in his retirement about the impact of having T.O. forced down his throat, and how heavy that weighed on his decision to retire.

So put yourself in the Tuna's shoes ... if you were the Tuna looking at T.O.'s portfollio, here's what you'd see ...

What hurt BP in Dallas is BP himself.He tried to do too much by himself.The game planning is often incoherent (except some early games) plain vanilla.A very predictable not only to fans at home but opposing coaches in the film room.TO was not a factor at all.Maybe to non cowboys' fans who wish him to be,but that was not the case.

No ...the things depicted about T.O. actually happened. Bill Parcells actually knew about T.O.'s track record. While the measure of impact T.O. had on the Tuna's decision to retire is questionable, I'm certain that those deeds all went into the mix.

Since I never go on other teams message boards, I forget how biased and stupid some poster come across.

Thanks for reminding me.

I forget how they try to stir the pot, and how they share their opinions assuming anyone actually cares what they think or have to say.

I don't, .. but thanks for lifting me up and making me appreciate that despite my shortcomings, one of them is not that I am so pathetic that I troll on other teams message boards just trying to stir the pot.

One other thing, the way that your season played out only proved that everything that Owens said about McNabb was true.

You were losing with him, and would not have turned your season around unless he went down.

Like always, Owens gets villified, but he was only telling the truth.

McNabb is a good athlete but he is a pansy, mommys boy pretender when it comes to leadership. He is a baby that can't lead when it matters.
