Anyone know of a good place to find a travel package to Vegas? I've been searching the internet and every reasonable package I find appears to get bad reviews on the hotel rooms. I want to be on the strip in a clean hotel room. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My first visit to Vegas, I used funjet vacations and stayed in the Riviera. It was an older casino hotel, but it served its purpose. airfare/hotel was $500 or so.

My 2nd visit I stayed in the MGM Grand. Someone else made the arrangements and I forgot what I paid for that. May have been around the same. *shrug*

My opinion is if you're not bringing kids along, then it doesn't matter where you stay. You won't be in the room much, anyway.

I understand that, too. I'd guess that any place on the strip is going to be nice. It's just a matter of working within your budget.

The Riviera looked older, but the service was just as nice and the bed as comfortable as it was in the MGM. Both had good buffets and we got one free buffet per day at each of them.

MGM had nicer restaurants and clubs, and other entertainment, but in general, you can eat, gamble, club, at any of the casinos and still have a "cheap" room at a different casino.

Prepare to walk ALOT. Have comfortable shoes. Flip flops are not really ideal, IMO.

I recommend The Startosphere : http://www.stratospherehotel.com/
Great hotel at great price and real easy to find after a night of heavy drinking....because it's the tallest thing you can see.
PS- no matter where you stay, be sure to treat yourself to a dinner at Felini's....a great Italian restaurant on the first floor of the Stratosphere.

I like your suggestions. The first time I went, the travel agent booked me at the Stratosphere. Worse hotel and location in the city. It took me an hour on the tram to get to where the action was. Oh yes, the shoes I wore were not made for walking so I most definitely will wear flats this time.

I was there this past summer, but we stayed at the Worldmark condos because my girl has a membership there.

However, keep an eye out for packages if you decide to see a show. Book far in advance and don't pay for the show only. I found a package off the Blue Man group website for dinner at Lavo, which is a new italian restaurant at The Palazzo, a new addition to the Venetian. Then the show, followed by admittance to Lavo after it becomes a club after 11. The whole package was $20 less per person compared to the regular show tickets, and we were still 6th row center.

Lavo, btw, is the club Jerry was spotted at. Probably the best gourmet italian I've ever had. It's a must.

Hey, he said Startosphere not stratosphere so she wasn't commenting on his suggestion. :D

Been to Vegas once will never go back, I'll take Lake Tahoe any day of the week.

Tell me more about Tahoe. I'm open for suggestions.

vrbo.com

also look for coupon books and ask for a coupon book at any casino you walk into, 1 free drink here, one free meal there, $10 match play and you are saving(or winning) some serious money

I loved it, you have nice Casinos and much more to do away from the Casino during the day from going up in the mountains to spending the day on the lake which is spectacular. Easy to take part of a day and drive into California or go to old west town of Virginia City. During the winter time you have places like Squaw Valley

Tahoe's fantastic, but it's a very different experience from Vegas. For debauchery and all-around weirdness, it doesn't compare.

Re: Vegas: splurge for the Wynn. It's got a great location, and the suites won't disappoint. Whatever you do, don't go near the Stratosphere.
