I don't have a son. I'm just barely out of college myself but IF I had one OSU would be a big NO.
That whole thing, if true, is just nasty. Hookers for recruits.
I visited 5 campuses and hooked up with 4 girls. --not OSU.
I don't believe they were hookers but they were readily available and paying plenty of attention to recruits.
18/19 year old football stars (i wasn't a star; just a 2/3 star safety--i played LB in high school but was too small to play that in college) tend to find ways to hook up without needing paid hookers.
Bam Morris had tons of girls around him all the time and the dude was pretty suave but certainly not what I'd think of as handsome.
Each recruit is assigned a player tour guide.
What happens is the group of recruits stay in a particular hotel and come Saturday night you all get taken to an actual football players house or apartment for a "football party".
Plenty of girls show up and you find out very quickly which ones aren't girlfriends of players. The rest are there to schmooze with you and then it's just normal Saturday night stuff.
I am guessing particularly high ranked recruits may just have girls sent to their rooms.
This is so common place because the girls are usually not hookers; just unpaid versions of the same.
They get some benefit but it generally isn't cash or anything directly linked to hooking up with the player.
I did at one spot get taken to a strip club even though I was only 18 and bought endless tequila shots (OMG never drink cheap strip club tequila shots!-- i ended up that night not hooking up but mostly throwing up) and lap dances.
We'll likely hear more details but I don't think it is as bad as portrayed right now.
Just glad the timeline makes it tough for Dez to be pulled into it.
End of the day the players now look more at depth chart and style of football then getting hooked up on campus because that happens everywhere.
Free food, free drinks, free swag. None of it directly tied to the school.
But every player knows where to get free pizza or free beer or free cover charge.
This is just OKState's turn in the hopper but it would barely be a blip on the radar of any SEC team.
