According to The Washington Post’s Mike Jones, Doctson is not just suffering with pain in his left Achilles, which he hurt during rookie minicamp in May, but now he’s also experiencing pain in his right Achilles.

It’s a weekly question at Commanders Park and has been since the spring, when the wideout strained his left Achilles’ tendon during rookie minicamp and lasted one full-squad practice before he missed the rest of the offseason, training camp and the preseason.

The Commanders have become even more perplexed by the rookie’s health. Rest and treatment aren’t helping the debilitating pain in his left leg go away. And people familiar with the situation say that as of late, Doctson’s right Achilles’ tendon has started bothering him significantly as well, and no one knows why.

The Commanders have sent Doctson for MRI’s and independent doctors to diagnose the injury, but none have been able to get a grasp on the root of the issue. No structural issues have been found in either tendon.

Bizarre. This is a guy I thought was going to tear up the league, too. Hope he gets it sorted eventually. In the offseason, for example.

I think they should shut him down for good and just let him heal up for next season. He's missed too much time to be effective his year anyway.

Tough on a young player to miss time early and then come on late. Bummer for you guys.

I hope he has a nice long career, just not in football. The Commanders wasting another 1st rounder after going so long without one sounds more to my liking

They should just cut him...then he can come to Dallas in search of proper medical treatment.:)

Achilles tendonitis (or tendonosis) is tricky to treat. I'm guessing, much like Gallette, he is overcompensating for his bad achilles, and thus is making the other one sore. At any rate, he's a talented young kid, and shutting him down was the right thing to do. They don't necessarily need him for this season anyway. He was always a "future" pick, since Garcon and Jackson are in their final year of their contract.

I am sure TO has his hyperbaric chamber still. Maybe Josh could borrow it.

He's a former TCU Horned Frog. Therefore I wish him a full and speedy recovery.

This is a great example of how medicine has a LOT of gray and this is why I laugh at people who pretend like they have ANY idea when or if Jaylon Smith will play in the NFL and also why I was pissed at the wasted Rd 2 pick
