Anybody notice in the episode just prior too the Chargers exhibition game, when Wade was giving his pre game locker room speach, repeated more than one time "dont worry about mistakes". I want agressive play, not stupid play. This team has been plagued for years by penalties and stupidity. I seriuosly doubt Jimmy J or the Tuna would say dont worry about mistakes. Jimmy J used to cut guys for being stupid and making mistakes. That is what the team needs to get back too.

The point he was trying to make was play hard and if you screw up get over it and move on to the next play.

Yep, I said right then and there this guy just doesnt get it and I still stand by that statement. You cant have excellence without accountability. How can you reach perfection if your boss doesnt demand it? Perfection may not be obtainable but it should still be your goal.

Even by his own words he should of been canned, the team was mistake ridden all season. Not a coincidence in my opinion.

The idea with Wade is to worry about mistakes during the week, where the coaches can correct them, and then not to worry about them on game day. I don't a philosophical problem with that.

I have a bigger problem with the mistakes not getting corrected during the week. And I think that's much more likely to be the result of insufficient coaching and inattention to detail than it is to not being afraid of your coach.

He held himself accountable.

He just wants the players to play like they don't have a foot shoved up their *** like they did with Bill.

Bill tried it his way and he was one of the best ever at cutting down on penalties, turnovers, and all of that other good stuff and this team still found off the wall ways to lose.

They still do that under Wade as well and we may actually be a little better at it considering we're a more loose team.

Yep. We had a ton of penalties when Parcells was the coach too. People seem to forget that.

Wade has also said that he coaches penalties. He works with the team on correcting penalties.

Parcells always said, "I don't coach penalties."

It's been tried both ways. Same results. At a certain point it's on the players.

totally agree, you shouldnt put up with sloppy mistakes, because when you do, your setting yourself up for failure. A coach that allows sloppy mistakes isnt a head coach to me. Period!

I have a huge problem with people analyzing a show that is a year old because they didn't catch it the first time.

Agreed 100%. Had we won the superbowl that year, none of these threads would even exist.

When it comes to the offense, I think Garrett needs to incorporate into Romo the need to remind the players "in the huddle" especially in crucial situations, NO PENALTIES PLEASE, especially pre-snap penalties.

On Defense, there is no excuse for jumping offsides as much as we do, and I know Wade teaches his players to get a quick jump off the ball. He's got to stop doing this, even though it may cost you maybe 1 sack a game, it will cost you a few 1st downs that could be the back-breaker.

Bottom line, if the penalties keep going in the same direction they've gone in the last few years, we'll continue to be a team in the middle of the pack, which is the worst place to be as a franchise.

Why is NFL Network even showing that again? Most of their top stories from that season are no longer even on the team (TO, ROY, PAC, Amendola). Its really cruel to torture us with that again. Its really a terrible flashback. :bang2:

I saw that too, and I only took that as it being the first preseason game. I doubt he goes out there middle of the year telling them not to worry about mistakes, he just wanted to see what those guys had to offer in the first preseason game, that's all.

It's only torture if you continue to watch it.

34-32's Cowboys were more penalized in a few years than Wade's Cowboys.

Try doing just a little bit of research before putting your opinion out there. It is like farting in an elevator, at least check to see if anyone else is in there with you first before you embarrass yourself. :bang2:

It is a bit much. Is it useful to understand? Certainly. But if we have done what we say we have done, it is irrelevant to how this current team is going to perform. Sitting there and saying this is going to repeat itself is fatalistic. I don't have much confidence in this staff in general but I would hope they are smart enough to not repeat the same mistakes.

But we didn't. We failed. This is what amounts to a post-mortem. It is useful to diagnose what happened, at least to understand it. We were undisciplined, too loose and probably felt we had the playoffs made already.

The NFL Network is embarassing at times. They have 40 years and literally thousands of football games they could revisit and utilize to enhance their programming.

Instead we get recycled fluff. Even the "Classic" games are the same ones they showed throughout the season. I don't understand why they show half of what they show. Instead of showing the greatest games and greatest players and getting more fans to appreciate history, we get beaten over the head with Football Follies and the same repetitive garbage. You would think the way they struggle making the channel attractive to new viewers, this is why.

Love the guy trying to say that BP's guys made more mistakes then Wades. Would first have to see the stats- then see how many were made after 2004 or so when BP had most of his guys in place= not the losers he had prior.
Now wade does not have as many of HIS guys here so maybe that is not truly fair- but one should look at mental errors and see if its gotten better. Frankly I doubt it.
