Dak has turned into a super greedy player. There is no other way around it. Dude is all about getting paid the most. He lied when he said this offseason that he didn't want to be highest paid. Then why wait until all the other QBs got paid this year?

Dak has turned into a greedy abruti!

I just don't like that he said "I don't play for money!" Every player does, every person working is working for money. I know he was trying to say the right thing, but just be honest and say what you've been saying how there's money elsewhere, and other qb's have had success on other teams

Dak is the same person he has always been, it's just that you are now seeing it. Welcome to the club.

Baloney. He wasn't this greedy at first.

If anything, Jerry's repeated franchise tags in back-to-back years after Dak's rookie contract came to an end is what made Dak become a greedy player.

He discovered what the Cowboys franchise is all about and adjusted his attitude accordingly. Plus, he sucks.

Here's the thing. If Dak wants to be paid based on what he would get in FA, then why pay him now? Why not wait until the season is over? It gives Jerry no reason to pay him sooner rather than later.

We don't know what Jerry offered him. But unlike normal jobs, the amounts for QBs are ridiculous. Does it matter if you get 5M less a year for 4-5 years? At this point it either has to be pride or greed.

For all we know Jerry offered him 50M. That's where pride comes in. But if he was offered 55M a year, that's where greed comes in.

Dak only wants what the market says he’s worth, and you’d do the same. A lot of QBs would have held out of camp, but Dak is a team player and a standup guy.

No, I wouldn't. You don't know me. I would get enough but give some back to surround myself with good talent. Don't tell me $50 million/year is not enough for any QB right now.

I'm not a cap specialist but it seems in order to be able to pay a QB $60 million per year the cap hit would have to be spread out over a long time, longer than Dak probably has left in his career. I'm looking at the Mahomes deal as an example. I'm going to guess Dak has 4-5 solid years left which puts him at 35/36. So a 5-year deal at $60 per year puts $300 million on the table. Most of that would have to be guaranteed to keep pace with the current mid $50 million contracts QBs are signing. One also has to factor in the $40 million Dallas is already carrying in dead money from the last contract. Void years could make it work, I guess, but that's not smart. I honestly don't see how that kind of money can be manipulated to make it work on a shorter deal.

If he's really worth that much on the open market, imagine what his trade value would be.

But the old wildcatter who loves to tell us what a risk-taker he is doesn't have it in him. He'll meekly either cave to Dak's demands or somehow let Dak walk for only a third round comp pick.
