Apparently, you'd be forced to go with either Rush or Lance, unless of course, some other whimsical QB appealed to your devilish mood. It just seems like it's just a matter of time for Jerry & Son to come around to reality and submit to the inevitable truth that prevails.

Dak is their best bet and will likely remain as such, unless something totally unexpected happens in the meantime. Could Trey Lance suddenly bloom into the great surprise that many fans had hoped might appear out of the horizon? Jerry & Son await an answer to that idea.

At this point in time, there has been nothing substantial to indicate that's the case. Such a thing seems unlikely, at this juncture. Perhaps TC and the preseason games might indicate something different, but that seems quite doubtful at this juncture.
Yeah, everyone knows this. Who cares? Dak is their best bet for what? To have a better regular season? You pay 60M for that? Dalton Shultz wanted to extort what he wasn't worth too. He got paid less elsewhere. Maybe Dak should ask for 80M since all we have is Lance and Rush. If Dallas doesn't accept. Take less elsewhere.

Can't argue a single thing here. I think the turning point in the Dez catch game was the Murray fumble. We were taking over that game at their place. Then that happened.

The Seattle fumbled snap. There was about a minute twenty left. Even if we got that FG, at the time I thought Seattle would get in FG range anyway.

The last loss against the Packers in 2016, I thought we didn't stand a chance against that Falcons team had we beat the Packers. But we'll never know. I just know their offense was outstanding and our D was weak at best.
The Murray fumble really turned the game and the momentum around. I felt like before that fumble that we might start running away with the game but the fumble erased all that.

That was a huge turning point in that game.

That play stood out to me more than the non catch call.

When one is demanding 20+% of a business's available pay cap, go ahead and point fingers. Until then, it's not even comparable.
This is the real world man…
It is comparable if you’ve ever been in a situation where you are doing the most important work of the business and know you deserve the majority of the available money. If you’re ok with paying Susie and Johnnie their “fair increase” even though you know that they couldn't their job without you, then cool. But in the real world, Susie and Johnnie need to be ok with not getting a large percentage increase certain years because they know anyone could do their job. Especially if it means losing the guy that makes their pay possible and who might bring them more money in the long run.

Chances are that Dak would get what he and his agent would be satisfied with if he decided to look elsewhere. As far as this FO is concerned, they would much prefer to see success in the regular season, rather than to take a chance on not doing so with either Rush or Lance at QB. They aren't likely to do anything risky to lose face with anyone else at QB. The prospects of losing face this year and next likely scares them silly. They'll cave in.

Absolutely. Dallas was taking over the game. It surprised me. That fumble screwed it all up.

I believe you. But IMO, crashing and burning in the first round doesn't have to cost 60M a year. You can do that for much less. Tampa doesn't do that with Mayfield.

I'd settle for Mayfield as our QB for less than what Dak and his agent seem to be demanding. I'd like to see Dak settle for no more than $52 mil but yet, we'll likely be subjected to seeing him get whatever our FO is able to get by with in retaining Dak, imho. This FO just isn't good with contracts.

Baloney. He wasn't this greedy at first.

If anything, Jerry's repeated franchise tags in back-to-back years after Dak's rookie contract came to an end is what made Dak become a greedy player.
Yes ! I remember when Dak made a miserable $50 million for 2 whole years of playing football. That would make any one of us really bitter too !

I'm mainly against our team building strategy, not any particular player. The Cowboys seem to use house rules that work against them.

Yeah, me too esp since there was almost five min left when the refs took away a legitimate touchdown.
