It's a false dichotomy; Aikman and Irvin did not necessarily offer contrasting viewpoints based on the posted quotes. The Cowboys may have gotten worse by subtracting Owens while still having a "helluva" offense.

Losing T.O. was huge.

Having said that, Irvin was a great player but a really stupid man. Nothing personal, it's just the way he conducts himself and has run afoul of the law. He's clownish.
I would never put any stock into what he says, but man, he was a world class WR.

Not sure of the context. Irvin has said alot of positive things about the Cowboys as a whole. And i think Aikman has said the Cowboys are 3rd best in the division. Troys nose is still up the rectum of the Eagles.

Troy is right on this one, theirs too many weapons on this team for us to cry over the loss of TO. If we eliminate the offensive penalties I forsee us moving down the field methodically eating the clock up with long possessions. This offense is going to rejuvinate our defense.....

It's open season with NFL TV analysts. The networks are all having conference calls with their top analysts doing a lot of preseason prognostications.

NFL Network trotted out Michael Irvin on Monday, Fox offered Troy Aikman today.

Here's one thing the old Cowboys disagree on: The Cowboys parting ways with T.O.

Irvin: "I never ever believe you will get better getting rid of the kind of talent T.O. has."

Aikman: (The Cowboys) weapons are there. The quarterback is there. This should be a helluva offense football team."

Yet Troy has us 3rd in the East.

Based on what I've seen from the starters in preseason, they clearly havent gotten worse.

You either love the Cowboys or you hate them - pretty much given

There is holding on every play - pretty much given

You hate the Cowboys - how many refs fall in that category?

You see a hold.....

What do you do?

Now the false starts - that is a different story....

But the holding on Hurd - the horse collar on DeAngelo, the holding by Proctor, the offsides called on Ware (it looks like one doesn't it - flag)

Are we getting a raw deal?
