I'll bet Michael Irving and Emmit Smith agree.
:laugh2: Back in the day, John Madden was constantly saying "Emmitt Thomas" (who I mainly remember as a Commanders and Eagles assistant rather a HOF player) when refering to Emmitt Smith.

We should still be pretty strong in the middle with Brady Jaymes.

I realize that the game is not played on paper, but, on paper, if the game really does come down to who better protects the QB, then huge advantage to Dallas, IMO. Our rushers against their O-line is a far bigger advantage than their rushers against our O-line.
I hope so, but iI don't understand some of these dramatic remarks that the actual performance on the field does not reflect.
Actually ON PAPER, they have the edge.

Minnesota leads the entire NFL in sacks. Jared Allen led all of the NFC in sacks.
Also Dallas and Minny both gave up 34 sacks this year.

I too think we may have an edge (gut feel), but the stats don't at all show it--and if we do have an edge it would be very slight. Don't forget that their rushers get the added advantage of a very loud dome crowd to help them too.

spencer was late coming to the show with sacks or we would have been higher up the ladder. With how he is playing NOW we have the edge.

His legs have been missing for most of the season...

I doubt he remembered where he put them given an extra week...

...Peppers beat the brakes off him...the Vikings can't have that happen again this sunday...

This is by far my most successful thread so far at cz. I'd like to thank troy aikmen, emmit smith, michael irving, brady jaymes, keith brookings, and everyone else who kept this thread alive. :laugh2:

Your points are valid. Perhaps the way I should have stated it was that based on the last several games each team has played, it appears that Dallas has a big advantage. Minny got a lot of their sacks fairly early against a lot of weak competition, if I'm not mistaken, and have given up a lot of sacks lately. Dallas is the opposite. They have been getting after the opposing QB of late. Considering those points, I say Dallas has a big advantage going into this game, at least on paper...How's that? Of course, This is merely my opinion, which isn't worth diddley, so don't get too bent about it! ; )

I'm sure Marcus Ware and DeMarcus Spears will make Troy proud this Sunday.
