Marty keeps pulling quality tail, LOL. I suspect Rust will fill in Marty on his progress with the case and they'll work together to solve, in the present, over the final two episodes.

That's a little too "story book"ish for this dark a show, I think. It looked to me like they were going to nose dive into some conflict. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them dies. Next season scraps McConaughey, Harrleson and this plot entirely, yes? If so then I really think it could hit the fan for Rust or Marty

Perhaps, it is too dark/imaginative for an ending like that, but I can see them collaborating again. I think I read that the writer wont be back if they do another season, so I'm sure the quality will go down. It has been excellent thus far, though.

I think the darkness will come from who all is involved in the cult. I still suspect Marty's wife, Maggie, is demonic.

I think at least one of them dies next episode probably Rust. He said the reason he came back was to "tie off the circle" of his life. It looks to me like they are setting up the black detectives to be the focus of next season. When they were lost and looking for the church out in the sticks it was very similar to Rust and Marty when they were looking for the church with the mural painted on the wall which would explain the whole time is a flat circle theory with the new detectives picking up where the last two left off.

Notice the guy on the lawnmower with the two detectives?

Had some scarring on his face and he was trying to tell them that his family had been there for a long time but they dismissed him and took off before he could finish.

Rust talked to the lawnmower man in front of the school before but left when Marty got info on Ledoux. He never saw the right side of his face where the scars were.

I think he also had a beard when Rust talked to him

I freaking love it. McConaughey and Harrelson make a great team. It's crazy to me that the same guy who did A Time To Kill, Mud, The Lincoln Lawyer, U-571, Dallas Buyers Club, and True Detective could also be responsible for roles like Magic Mike, The Wedding Planner, Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past, and The Newton Boys. Matt has no middle ground, he's either fantastic or flat out sucks.

Dont forget Wooderson in Dazed and Confused. which was awesome. :)

Forget? I've modeled my life after Wooderson! I'm pretty much his mini me.

Alright, Alright, Alright... I watched every episode of this show last and gotta say it's a great piece. Anyone who wants to watch it you can stream it for free with no pop-ups at glowgaze.com

The Wikipedia article has this about the format of the show - so it seems like they pulled MM and WH as the hooks to the show to establish it, and they'll move forward with smaller actors:

Format[edit]
The series was pitched as an anthology format, with each season featuring a different cast of characters and story.[7]

very, very good show.
this season with these seasoned actors will go down as iconic imho.

and yea everyone caught the scarboy deal... crazy freak dude no one wanted to pay attention to (except Rust but he was interrupted).

suspect Rust dies and Marty ends up back with his wife but this show is crazy enough to have the opposite happen.

Rust has absolutely nothing to live for besides this case. I'm certain he dies in the last episode.

I heard the last episode is also 1 hr long. Disappointing b/c it seems like we'll have several question unanswered..... then again I shouldn't be surprised from a Lovecraft influenced writer.

I think we end up getting most everything answered.

Man with the scares?
Who is the Yellow King?
Who all is involved with kindnapping these women and children?
What happens to Rust and Marty?

This first season has been amazing, not sure they can duplicate this again.

Was it scaring? I went back a few times and couldn't tell if it was scars or a beard.
