What do you guys think of him?

To me he has so much upside. Could potentially be the best CB in this draft.

4. Trumaine Johnson Montana 5.85 6-1 7/8 204 4.56

Upside:
• Looks the part
• Equipped to press (long arms)
• Very athletic with linear fluidity
• Springs in his legs
• High-points and catches naturally
• High ceiling

Downside:
• Inconsistent
• Shows hip tightness
• Slow to disengage
• Struggles to break down in space
• Needs to adopt a pro work ethic
• Enjoyed being the big fish and is not a leader

The Way We See It:
Safety-sized with movement skills, Johnson has long arms, press ability and was recruited as a receiver. Skill set will be in demand, but he will have to land in a disciplined, structured environment to maximize his potential.

There goes that idea, Romo would have him wearing his hat backwards in a week tops!

I'm a Montana fan and watched many streamed games over the past few years. He is a legitimate prospect and could easily develop into a starting corner. I don't often get a chance to promote Montana players in the draft but he stood out like a sore thumb in the FCS, the same way Marc Mariani, Kroy Biermann and Lex Hilliard did before him.

I agree with the strengths and weaknesses presented. For having such good size, he was sometimes too easy to block, too slow to disengage and didn't always recognize run quickly enough. He needs to wrap better but he will hit.

What I like most is his nose for the ball. He routinely locates the ball in the air and wins battles for picks. He is a true "ballhawk", which we never seem to have in our secondary. Most teams avoided throwing his way this season but he was sometimes dominant in his career.

He took a while to mature, got in some altercations and even faced academic probation going into last year. To his credit, he stayed in Missoula for the first time last summer and got his grades up while working out with the second-year coaching staff.

He wouldn't start immediately but he would get on the field quickly in our defense. I want him in the third.

I think he can play

I don't really know enough about him to be a good judge, but I do like his size.

I haven't seen a Montana game that I can recall, but when I watch his breakdown on YouTube (Northern Iowa vs Montana), I see what you and the opening scouting report are getting at. It seems bizarre that not once does he get into a backpedal. I see a free safety lining up at CB who doesn't tackle well and reacts late pretty consistently.

In the 3rd round, acceptable risk vs reward. If we're talking 2nd round, I prefer several other CBs and many other prospects at other positions.

* Read he got tazed by a cop back in October. RKG alert.
** Also read he dodged the all-star games. Said he wasn't ready. Caveat emptor.

I see him as a FS project and that's about it.

I think he's better than Wilson and Wilson is getting PT in Miami.

I think Oregon State's Brandon Hardin is bigger, faster and a better CB. Hardin is also a better tackler.

Someone will draft him way to early based measurables and "upside".

I'd be afraid to use anything higher than a 5 on him.

Very questionable "want to" based on everything I've read.
