Safety-sized with movement skills, Johnson has long arms, press ability and was recruited as a receiver. Skill set will be in demand, but he will have to land in a disciplined, structured environment to maximize his potential.

To me he has so much upside. Could potentially be the best CB in this draft.

I don't often get a chance to promote Montana players in the draft but he stood out like a sore thumb in the FCS, the same way Marc Mariani, Kroy Biermann and Lex Hilliard did before him.
I agree with the strengths and weaknesses presented. For having such good size, he was sometimes too easy to block, too slow to disengage and didn't always recognize run quickly enough. He needs to wrap better but he will hit.
What I like most is his nose for the ball. He routinely locates the ball in the air and wins battles for picks. He is a true "ballhawk", which we never seem to have in our secondary. Most teams avoided throwing his way this season but he was sometimes dominant in his career.
He took a while to mature, got in some altercations and even faced academic probation going into last year. To his credit, he stayed in Missoula for the first time last summer and got his grades up while working out with the second-year coaching staff.
He wouldn't start immediately but he would get on the field quickly in our defense. I want him in the third.
