Since my first list didn't seem to work for you I figured I would compile another list for those saying that Dez is a giant failure, a bust of a 1st round pick, and "Average at best". Now I see threads saying he can't catch (Not True) that he is not clutch (Not true..Remember both skins games last year?) and that we should trade him (STUPID. we would never get any value in return anyways!)

First List was a list of current successful Wideouts who Dez easily outperformed in his first 30 games compared to theirs

Greg Jennings
Reggie Wayne
Terrell Owens
Steve Smith
Vincent Jackson
Santonio Holmes
Drew Pearson
Michael Irvin

Now for those of you who continue to say that he is way behind schedule in his development and that a 1st round pick should come in and "Produce" (as if he hasn't) right away I compiled a list of some first round picks.. all receivers.. Who I am betting you would say Dez CLEARLY looks better than..So here it goes (List begins going from 2002-2009) Remember, all these players are 1st round picks most higher picks than Dez.

Player Name (Pcik #)
Donte Stallworth (13th)
Ashley Lelie (19th)
Javon Walker (20th)
Charles Rogers (2nd)
Bryant Johnson (17th
Roy Williams (7th)
Reggie Williams (9th)
Lee Evans (13th)
Michael Clayton (15th)
Michael Jenkins (29th)
Rashaun Woods (31st)
Braylon Edwards (3rd)
Troy Williamson (7th)
Mike Williams (10th
Matt Jones (21st)
Mark Clayton (22nd)
Santonio Holmes (25th)
Ted Ginn Jr (9th)
Robert Meachem (27th)
Craig Davis (30th)
Anthony Gonzalez (32nd)
Darirus Heyward Bey (7th)
Michael Crabtree (10th)
Jeremy Maclin (19th)
Kenny Britt (30th)

Now, surely I will have people telling me I am a Dez defender and that I am Content with him underachieving-- Both being false. I actually do think Dez has underachieved to this point for a variety of reasons but the only reason I say he has underachieved is because I think his potential is so high (top 3 wideout type of talent). I also have been disappointed with his inconsistency but inconsistency is the word that can be applied to most young players..Do I wish he could be unique in that regard and never have bumps in the road? of course. Does that mean I am going to jump of a bridge when he has those bumps in the road? Not quite.

Until I discovered this site I was under the impression that I was harder on Dez than most but seeing as facts, statistics, and talent matters not to some people here I figured I would try to make it simpler for people to understand that what they are saying is flat out wrong.

Some people on this site only watch the Cowboys and nobody else which is fine.. No one is required to be a football junkie but some of the expectations for certain players is ridiculous.. I genuinely believe that some people on this site think that most 1st round wideouts come out of the gates with 1400 yard 14 TD seasons.. It doesn't happen like that.

IDK what else to say lol I'm almost positive there will be multiple comments trying to discount what I am saying or to discredit his talent and his actual production but I laid out some facts and hopefully I can change some minds.

MY BIGGEST FEAR is that all the pressure from some fans and media is going to lead to us getting rid of Dez and having to watch him continue to grow into one of the best wide receivers in the game on a different team..

Thanks for the post and research. Stuff like that is interesting and gives perspectives that people might not be aware of.

The bottom line on Dez will be this. Is the organization willing to wait it out for him to develop on the field while holding their breath waiting for him to mature off it.

I'm not so sure.

Nice work.....especially looking at the list. The one guy I like as much or better than Dez...was Javon Walker. Think he went to FSU. Had he stayed healthy...I think who would have really been a good one.

This thread will either be ignored or condemned as foolish by the Dez haters. Even though he is our best WR and best WR in some years.

Oh, and nice work on the research. Much appreciated.

That's debatable. Miles Austin is pretty good too. Neither is that much better than the other and both have been rather inconsistent this season. Both are very good football players with the potential to be great, but in order to do that and fulfill their potential they need to develop some consistency.

I would take that debate. Miles is good, not great and has hit is ceiling. Dez is great but inconsistent and has yet to come close to his ceiling. In addition, I would also say that since Irvin left Dez is the best WR we have had in terms of raw talent.

But I do agree, he needs to be consistently producing.

The clown is more talented than T.O?

Yeah ok.

Well, I'm so relieved to now know that Dez is better than Michael Irvin and Drew Pearson. Who knew?

Craptastic statistics, but try watching the game with your eyes.

Mangini on first take showed the coverage on Miles td and Dez was doubled. R2A needs to realize his boy isn't that great. Both of them have flopped this year. Tired of reading about them.

I wouldn't bet $5 that Dez is even on the team next year. The offseason isn't too kind for Dez, and he's on the last nerve of this organization.

When it comes to Dez threads too many of the posters who are also registered users on stormfront rear their ugly heads in, so I'm gonna stay away. That's with all due respect to the statistics you've posted OP

Dez stats aren't the problem. It is the fact that he can't be depended on to make a routine catch, or run the right route, or make an adjustment at a critical time. If you are going to have a receiver like Dez on your team you have to take all of the thinking out of his play (as in running a fade or a long bomb) to idiot proof it, but even then he might drop it if it hits him in the hands. A player's value is greatly diminshed if you have to game plan to keep him from ****ing things up.

Don't go there. This isn't Stormfront, or anything like Stormfront. You should slap yourself for even suggesting that.

Yeah ok.

I think Dez has as much if not more than T.O. did. They are similar for sure but Dez is younger with more upside than when TO came to Dallas.

And yeah, Ok.

T.O is a hall of fame player and you could argue the most talented receiver since 1990. He is certainly top 5. Is Dez a extremely talented player? Yes. But he is not on T.O's level mate.

Think about the top 5 WRs since 1990.. T.O, Moss, Johnson Jr., Johnson, Fitzgerald... You can argue a dozen or so different receivers deserve to be in the top 5 but Dez isn't in that discussion. T.O is leading it. T.O > Dez.
