Try using the fullback

I think the Cowboys should come out sunday and use Gronkowski in the power I, with Romo actually under center. Run, Run, Run, and then punt if you have to, but stick with the run.

San Fran made the Saints pretty tame with a dedicated running game that enventually opened up the passing game nicely.

No way! That is not nearly glamorous for the Cowboys! We need highlight reels and fancy trick plays or else we're not good enough!!!!

I actually want to see more runs with no fullback and more play action passing with the fullback.

I think teams are too focused on our run game right now when we come out in run formations.

When we went to the playaction game against Chicago we were gashing them until we eventually had a back breaking penalty or turnover.

Houston has holes in the secondary and you want to run run run? Don't quite get that, I would think you would attack a team where their weakness is not play to their strength. San Fran ran the ball vs New Orleans because New Orleans is not very good in run defense.

Don't you know we are a run and shoot team. We try to run then shoot our self in the foot.

Last week McNabb was 28 of 38 for 426 yards vs the Houston secondary.

I'd love for us to use the fullback more, but as kmd24 said, we don't have a good one right now. I like Gronk a lot and think he has some potential (I like how you can actually hand him the ball on short yardage), but he's an undrafted guy in the third week of his first NFL season ever.

Rule number one is to get your best players on the field, and he's not better than Roy or Dez. Or put Barber and Felix both out there if need be.

Now at some point, I'd love for us to get a better FB and use him a lot. Maybe that can be Gronk after a year of lifting. But he's not that guy right now.

Yes, 3 touches for a FB is not near enough. Forget the fact that the best FB in our History didn't average 3 touches per game and the FB is a fading discipline and ours is an undrafted rookie free agent it's clear that FB is the key to winning.

I was a FB, am biased beyond rational thought pro FB, and even I know this isn't the problem.

Houston is weak on the back end. If we can quit blowing assignments, there are a lot of yards to be had. Witten could play a major role.

The Cowboys lack the talent to be successful with such a strategy. Unquestionably, they need to pass less, but they still must pass more than they run.

The only reason Gronk was effective is because Garrett hadn't really utilized the FB before, so there was no tape of it.

Chances are if he makes it a plan of his gameplan, it will be in a predictable manner and it won't be particularly productive.

We can't do that, we would screw up other teams knowing our tendencies !

I've seen so many post from reality and others and if we can the run/pass/play tendencies, what do you think DC around the league see ?

"I" formation, play action power lead fly pattern to Dez.

The other team would complain its not fair and we all know Red is a fair coach.

He'd probably put Gronkowski in the wildcat

We have shown that we cannot win dropping back to pass 50 times a game. It makes it so much harder on the oline to hold up when the defense knows they can just pin their ears back every play. This also leads to more penalties on the offensive line as well.

San Fran ran the ball against the saints because that's what the 49ers do, not because it was a weakness with the other team. If they play the vikings, they will still line up and run time after time. It's what they do and they don't let the defense completely dictate their gameplan.

Our problem is we don't stick with what's working. Our running game gets going, at least against the skins, and garret changes and gets away from it since we are down a few points. The only time the guy will ever run the ball is if we are winning. He panics way too fast.

We also need to stick with the hot hand. Barber was playing pretty well last week, but then we take him out and put felix in there. You need to be able to let the running backs settle in and get in a rhythm. This constant subbing in and out shows the defense what we are going to do. We are way too predictable on offense.

Why garret constantly runs sweeps with barber just astounds me. Felix is the one you should be running those with. You would think he would know his own personnel.
