Few of you took Jacksonville serious. They are Super Bowl contenders. They were 12-4 last year. They might have the league's best defense. They probably have the best defensive line in football. They have 3 young talented wideouts who are trying to erase the Jimmy Smith myth, and they also have one of the best young unheralded QBs in the league. So just keep that in mind. We lost to a darn good team. They may not get as much media attention as the Pats, Steelers, or Colts but they're one of the AFC's elite teams, they just play in a small market.
And Bledsoe.... I was ready to bench him before this game. But you have to wonder why he suddenly fell apart? If him and TO had connected on that TD pass in the late 1st/early 2nd, it would have been 17-0 and the Jags never would have come back. That miss was only because TO and Bledsoe hadn't practiced enough. The rust showed. But he looked pretty darn sharp before the 2nd quarter. The offensive line started giving in a little, and we know how he gets when there's pressure, but was it the rain? Concussion? He looked shakey. He was suddenly warming up on the sideline trying to shake something off. What I'm trying to say is Bledsoe is Bledsoe, I've never thought he was the savior in Big D, but I think something happened.
The defense collapsed a little, but some of those points were off of Bledsoe INTs. I noticed a lot of passes being completed in Henry's direction and then noticed more of Keith Davis later in the game, so my question is did Watkins blow some assignments?
The good news is a lot of Super Bowl teams in the age of parity come on strong in the late half of the season. We still have time to fix this thing.
