Hello Cowboy fans! I was talking to another Cowboy fan yesterday about a running back that was on the team many years ago. He always clowned around in the locker room like an idiot. Anyway, we were trying to remember his name. He was the running back that after the Cowboys got there butt whipped by the other team (cannot remember the team either), the fool asked someone on the other team for an autograph. Most of us here on the forum that it was disgusting that just after the team got whipped he wanted that autograph. Does anyone here remember who that was? Racking the old brains and cannot think of the running back or the other team, or the guy on the other team whose autographed he wanted?

Tashard Choice got gloves signed by Mike Vick after a Philly game.
for his nephew. Vick and Choice had a previous friendship when Vick was in ATL, and choice at Georgia Tech.

The players (Witten, Brooking, etc) said it was no big deal. Its quite common for athletes to talk, joke around, exchange jerseys or whatever, after the game.

Tashard Choice is the guy you are thinking of, although I don't remember there being talk of him clowning around in the locker room. As for the Michael Vick autograph, it was probably poor judgment on his part to do that, but realistically players from opposing teams get together on the field after games, exchange pleasantries, make dinner plans, pray together. This isn't old school NFL where the two teams have a personal hatred and hold grudges. As I recall, Choice was getting the autograph for a nephew. It was way overblown.

he's a well regarded coach these days, no?

Thanks, guys, yeah, that is the guy we were trying to remember.

Yeah, he goofed around in the locker room. I remember him and another player whose first name was Julius (not Jones) combined to make a tandem known as "Tulius" and they did "the slide" where they snuck up on teammates and slid their hand on them. Not sure what it meant. I bet the videos are still on YouTube.

That got Everson Walls benched then cut at the end of the 89 season after a lost to the Cardinals by Jimmy Johnson. After Walls gave up a long TD on the final play of the game in which Aikman got knock out cold completing what Jimmy thought was the Cowboys game winner, Everson Walls was laughing and socializing with Cardinal players after the game. Jimmy Cut him. I remember that.

It worked out for everyone. Walls got his Super Bowl ring with the Giants and was able to say he played for the greatest coaches in the history of football Eddie Robinson Grambling, Tom Landry Cowboys, Jimmy Johnson Cowboys, Bill Parcells Giants, and Bill Belichik Browns.

Jimmy Johnson drafted Larry Brown, traded for Issac Holt, and drafted Kevin Smith to replace Walls.
