I said when he was drafted (and I was called dead wrong and a hater) that Howie has missed a number of draft picks over the last few years. But he has never missed a guy who doesn’t take to being coached and doesn’t play hard, because he’d never go near someone like that, no one would. That’s just stupid.

No one wins them all. Plenty of teams pick the wrong guy especially in the 1st round. Go ask the 49'rs about solomon thomas. The trick is to not grab just 1 guy at the position but continue to pick guys you think can help the team on defense in the trenches specifically.

I have to disagree there.

2014 he was injured most of the season and the team was rolling. No one really dwelled on him being out cause the team was just rolling. Had a big showing in the playoffs vs the Lions.
2015 he had 8 sacks in a letdown(team) year. I don't recall anyone being down on him. More so Hardy who tanked hard after the photos were released.
2016 is probably the only year people got down on him. Suspension and then back injury combined for a bad year. Then he had back surgery which is never a good sign in a player.

he hardly played thats called Incomplete ie too soon to judge ie TBD..maybe the next staff figures out how to deal and use him better..he got in a dog house much like Taco, taco started playing better then we cut him, Tristen may turn out to be pretty good once he gets on track..

We got lucky and strung together three good first round picks a few years back and everyone decided that we magically became a competent front office all of a sudden.

Sure some were upset losing a pick and the guy was injured, but I just don't recall reading the bust term in 14/15.
