ESPN NFL Analyst Apologizes For Reaction To Cowboys Trade

“And George Pickens, who I’ve talked to, I’ve had conversations, I’ve been around. Someone who does have a good spirit. Someone who does have good energy. Somebody who honestly is a good dude. Now, there are things that when you watch the film or you watch the games, you have to be able to assess and say that can’t happen. You have to be able to assess and say, ‘You can’t do those things and be a leader. You can’t do those things and continue to help a team to build.’ But for me to jump to the conclusion right away, that was the reason he’s no longer there, that’s unfair to the organization I love and to a player I admire.”

I have tons of respect for Ryan Clark. He is as straightforward, thoughtful and thorough as they come--even when following up on his own comments. I would go back to watching sports talk shows more often if professionals like him would permanently replace the Stephen A. Smiths and Colin Cowherds of the industry.

I respect him on this particular topic.OMG, you are right about the last thing you said. Those shows are unwatchable and clownish. I haven't watched those things in many years. They tend to be uninformed and agenda driven, with almost no facts.

oh for pete's sake

now I will activate the Watch Thread function for what should have been a perfectly safe thread.

His financial future is in front of him. He has a lot of motivation to perform and reform. Money is a very good motivator
Agreed. Seems like he was smeared by many in the media but his teammates say he was the complete opposite of a bad teammate. I think this trade was just business. Dollars and cents. They had a long term plan and he no longer fit. It happens.

Ridiculous. What's to apologize for? For thinking there was a good reason Tomlin wanted rid of a talented player? Now we're going to act like Pickens is a perfect soldier? Come on.

Maybe say after talking to some people you've changed your mind a bit. But don't apologize when Tomlin himself said repeatedly that Pickens needed to grow up because he was hurting the team.

People still watch this garbage? A clip of Stephen A popped up on my YouTube yesterday. I remembered exactly why I do t watch his garbage opinion. Just like Lesean McCoy, I don't like him or what he stands for. I don't watch any of these people, I come in here for Cowboys content

Yeah, he’s one of my favorites as well. I don’t always agree with him, and that’s ok but he tries to be fair and his takes are usually spot on.

Some people will just never get it. Always one.

That's the mind blowing part. That anyone watches.

With the law you mean?
Yes, and I haven't heard anything about anything else either. On the field, how much of it is passion, frustration, and him being immature? I will say this, the spot light will be shining on him in Dallas, nowhere to hide. No one can shield him when you play for Dallas. If there is a hint of a issue on or off the field, the spotlight will be on that alone and he can't escape it. I don't have a crystal ball, and dunno if this experiment will work past this year.
