News: TS: ESPN NFL Analyst Ryan Clark Apologizes For Reaction To Cowboys Trade

Ryan Clark is a joke and has the most off the wall takes, not an intelligent brain cell in the man’s head, he has two. I’ll take Stephen A Smith over this loser every day of the week. Go have a nice cry RC! Ty…

Why else would they trade a #1 wr talent for a 3rd round pick?
They are retooling to get a qB1 in next years draft and have been stockpiling draft picks .

They also just paid DK huge money and wanted to maintain flexibility for 2026 and beyond.

Now that might be something. I'd understand them loading up picks to try and build around a young qb that they don't even have yet. That makes sense.
Funny, I keep thinking he played at Tennessee but he was at Georgia lol. I'm showing my age. My bad. I think I'm thinking of Carl Pickens not George.

They have plenty of money this year, next year, and the year after that. Heck they have way more money than dallas does.

RC loves the Steelers and likely has a good relationship with Pickens.

My theory: RC never wanted to slander Pickens, but the ESPN Execs (and Screamin A) mandated he do so on First Take, for clicks.

On his own platform, he cleaned it up and spoke truthfully.
He slipped and later realized it went against his mantra! And then realized he had to walk those statements back, cause there is a concerted effort by him and many in the new media to not criticize the same tropes of the past media. His initial stance was inline with what he's trying to eliminate from sports critique.

You might be right.

Either that, or he's doing some virtue thing. Looks genuinely apologetic tho.

A lot of people don't apologize for their wrongdoings, and lack accountability of any sort...good move for Ryan to clean that up.
It was gut reaction. I thought the same thing. I'm sure a lot of folks thought it too.

He makes a good point about having DK Metcalf there

maybe PIT feeling like they didn't want to pay Pickens but didn't want to drag things out, let him have a fresh start elsewhere and let him earn that payday maybe.

IF Pickens was an issue in Pittsburgh under Mike Tomlin who is arguably one of the better coaches in the NFL, how is he going to be successful in Dallas were the culture, or lack thereof just isn’t conducive to hold players accountable for their play or conduct? I guess Shotty and Jerry are going to whip Pickens into shape.
Seems like getting rid of a WR with 2nd round
talent for a few mid/late round draft choices is a bit suspect. One thing we know in the NFL is that if you’re a talented player and can help a team win the FO will figure out a way to keep them on the team.
I’m hoping for the best with guarded optimism as Pickens appears to be certainly better than the motley crew of WRs on the Cowboys not named Lamb. Let’s hope the Cowboys know how to utilize Pickens’ talents effectively.
