Tua back in concussion protocol

He should not be allowed to play again this season.

These are not little kids, they are adults. Not allowed? What is this, pre-school? If he wants to play, let him destroy himself. He's a grown man. As long as he's not suffering from any symptoms, he should be able to make his own decisions. He himself should be able to make the decision based on what team doctors say.

The doctors should be responsible and shut him down

For his own sake, he probably should not play the next two weeks. But if he passes concussion protocol.........

The Dolphins tried to hide this. He came out for the second half. It was videos that surfaced that brought to question his condition. It's playoffs time. I'm guessing he'll be back for the game against the Jets if it means anything.

Yea if he’s cleared then he should absolutely be able to be a man and decide what he wants to do. I expect him back if they have any meaningful football.

It would be unwise to come back this soon. But I understand these guys just can't not play when their team's playoff are involved.

This is something I heard a doctor say in regard to concussions in the NFL. He said, the NFL doesn't have a concussion problem, they have a concussion management problem.

If you get a concussion, and you allow the brain to totally heal, another concussion won't be a problem. Rinse and repeat. The problem is when they get cleared on concussion protocol before the brain totally heals. Which is in his opinion about a month.

If you return early, you are more susceptible to getting a concussion. If you wait for your brain to totally heal, you are not. But I can understand why the NFL would not want to wait a month for players to return from concussions.

I notice no one is mentioning the spectre of CTE looming down the road for Tua.

If he was concussed, they would explain a lot about that game, especially the three picks.
they didn't even radio down for him to be checked out after the play he hit his head on....this is yet another awful look not only on the NFL but the Fish as well

At this point in his career, why would they? Like most people, these young players live for today.

I think they purposely overlooked it.

Props to McDaniels for recognizing Tua wasn't right in a meeting and making him see the Dr. Three concussions in a season is really damaging. A 4th could have been even more awful than the 2nd we saw this year

He should call it quits for the season then regroup for next season. I understand people who think he should "quit" football. The guy hasn't made enough money yet to fully take care of himself, he is seeing money ahead of him, so I can see him try to squeegee a couple more seasons to try and bank some money, he needs to save every penny and invest since he may not see the next contract which is usually the one with the most $

What good is money if your brains are scrambled?

He has been playing football a long time. Do you think now that he finally is making any money for it, that he just wants to quit? Highly doubt he just wants to hang them up now. He will exhaust all options and if he is in a place where he will have a "scrambled brain" then ofc he will, but until then he will continue to make that $

So that mentality is fine with you? As long as you get to watch?
