Bledsoe pretty much said that we will use TEs and RBs to chip and help Torrin Tucker this week. Torrin+RB or TE=Flo. Dont worry we got this.

Except the TE/RB has been helping on Pettiti's side. Can't help both at once or you end up with only 2 receivers running routes....

Pettiti will be fine because he has improved and he is facing the lesser threat. At least Bledsoe will see it coming.

Can't help everyone out. This also minimizes margin for error from the offensive line. And blindside or not, doesn't matter as much to a pocket passer. They're locked in to what's going on downfield. Troy Aikman sad this much in a radio interview yesterday morning. A pocket passer like Drew Bledsoe is going to hold onto the ball as long as he possibly can to make a play downfield. He's been doing this entire career.

This is not to say I think Torrin Tucker will be a raging failure in replacing Flo, but we will definitely notice a difference, both directly and indirectly. You don't lose a starting LT like that and not feel the hit somewhere.

At this point I feel more comfortable leaving The rookie to handle his own. I dont like Tucker or his game, he needs all the help he can get.

Tucker isn't getting the help that everyone thinks he is. BP is plugging him in to Flo's spot. BP isn't going to change what he is doing offensive-wise to accomodate Tucker -that has never been his style. He expects backups to come in and fill a role - period.

However, Tucker performs, you can expect BP to say on Monday that "he didn't get a lot of help out there."

I didn't mean to come off as if I think we are sunk offensively. Quite obviously, some people up front are going to have to pick it up. A mental error from Allen, Rivera, one of the runners, etc. in protections could kill us. Those guys will need to be on top of their games.

Drops will most likely be shortened to further protect Drew. It will be interesting to see how Seattle attacks this. I would their book of blitz packages will be wide open, ready to go. Of course, a lot of these things depend on how the game progresses. Situation dictates a great deal.

I do have faith we will come with game specific wrinkles to offset these issues.

It certainly matters in regards to fumbles! If a QB can see a blitz coming at LEAST he cover up the ball. A blindside hit FREQUENTLY causes a fumble!

You make a good point there. I have to admit, I didn't want to think about the possibility of turnovers. Now I feel much better. :p

one good thing is that if a RB is moving over to help out, its easier to slide out for a screen without drawing attention. i think we'll definitely add some wrinkles scheme wise to neutralize the DE. screens, rollouts away from that side, pitchout to Thompson or fake one, etc may help. one thing for sure - Pettiti has to hold up his side too or Drew will get sandwiched. also, we have the new guy to play some snaps. there will be a lot of anxious coaches and fans hoping Tucker can step up...

This leaves me to believe that A Train is starting again if JJ can't go. We need a solid back to stay and block. Also, don't forget the plays when Key is back there. I think TT will play very sparingly unfortunately, but we need someone to pick up the right people.
