I don't like any of these but I will keep looking until someone posts my ideal mock
Okay - what about this one:
16 DT TIMMY JERNIGAN
FLORIDA STATE
47 DE CHRIS SMITH
ARKANSAS
78 CB STANLEY JEAN- BAPTISTE
NEBRASKA
115 QB JIMMY GAROPPOLO
EASTERN ILLINOIS
146 RB JAMES WILDER JR.
FLORIDA STATE
177 G BRANDON LINDER
MIAMI
206 WR CODY LATIMER
INDIANA
208 DT CALVIN BARNETT
OKLAHOMA STATE
oooo.... me likey! I'd even be ok with another DT in the 2nd. But I like this one a lot. The real shame is that Wilder isn't even close to the best RB on his team. That Williams kid will be a top 10 pick. Mark my words.... He's real good.
Honestly, if he were there I would've taken James White from Wisconsin. He's so underrated it's a crime. His vision, balance, and cutting (check the ankle breaking "jump cuts" in this video) are excellent, and although he doesn't have elite speed, he's more than fast enough. He keeps getting mocked to the Giants in sims - ugh:
I like that he makes the defenders come get him and doesn't run to contact. I could be ok with him that far down. He'd be our 3 back but that's ok. The only problem is that he doesn't bring anything that Dunbar doesn't have in spades. I expect that if Dunbar learns to hold onto the ball he will be fighting for the starting spot.
That's the truth right there! My best pre-combine mock yet:
Dallas Cowboys:
16 - DT, TIMMY JERNIGAN (FLORIDA STATE) - Exactly what the 'Boys need up front. Is disruptive, high energy, and stout against the run
47 - S, JIMMIE WARD (NORTHERN ILLINOIS) - Safety with range, and ball skills. Athleticism to make plays. Blocked several punts at NI
78 - DE, CHRIS SMITH (ARKANSAS) - Solid rusher off the edge. Reacts quickly at the snap. Good in pursuit
115 - QB, JIMMY GAROPPOLO (EASTERN ILLINOIS) - A future star at QB. Broke most of Romo's records at EI, will do it again in Big D
146 - WR, BRUCE ELLINGTON (SOUTH CAROLINA) - Could be a great slot receiver for the 'Boys. Also has value as a kick returner
206 - G, BRANDON LINDER (MIAMI) - Would provide solid depth at guard, and has future starter potential
208 - DT, CALVIN BARNETT (OKLAHOMA STATE) - Quick and athletic, good in pursuit, just needs to get stronger
215 - CB, AARON COLVIN (OKLAHOMA) - Athletic corner back with good ball skills, and good tackler, will provide immediate depth
