They have Jermaine Gresham (2010 1st rounder). Their interest in Bennett was before they drafted Gresham.

It still could be Bennett though. Cardinals and Browns could use an upgrade at TE.

Nobody said it was a player straight up for the 5th pick. They just said that a team in the top 5 had interest in one of our players....giant difference.

We get this kind of deal I'm jumping for freaking joy! I would gather they would want a later rounder in return for this deal, but you could get your OT and possibly guard, corner, DE, almost anything. I'm envious of NE right now!

The only thing I have heard since yesterday was regarding the lockout and whether or not there will be a stay that keeps things as they are or whether teams can briefly trade players for Draft picks.

I was told if that window for trades is open that we have a player someone in the top 5 wants, but I have no idea who it is or what team.

I would absolutely LMAO if the 49ers draft Locker. I personally hate when when people make simple comparisons like "this guy is just another that guy."

But just to indulge, Locker has always reminded me strongly of Alex Smith. Both players are intelligent, raw and generally erratic. Both guys are better rolling out of the pocket than standing and throwing in the pocket.

By the way, I'm not just throwing New England out just because they have picks. Many good sources on this forum have indicated that New England is looking for impact players for one final run with Brady at the helm. What that means is that they want guys ready to play now, not in three years.

I know for a fact that they've contacted us, the Browns and the Niners. Their #1 choice is Julio but would also make the move for Quinn.
