Incredible production this year. He is talked about as a 2nd rounder, but I dont see how he stays there. I think he is a 1st rounder

What is your interest level in Tuli in the 1st round

EXTREMELY HIGH!!!!!. He's the type of Base DE that is truly needed to make (I believe) Quinn's D run properly. I hate trying to stereotype/pigeon hole players into certain positions, but, I think a hybrid 4-3/3-4 needs certain "types" of players to make it work best. In MY opinion, for this D to really work, you need a good-to-great WDE/OLB like Micah or DLaw paired with a BIGGER 5T/SDE type like Tuli (285-290 that is both a really good pass rusher & run stopper). Then, you basically need a Tuli twin to play the 3T, and they should surround a LEGIT NT. The size dynamic and ability gives you a REAL 3-4 look that can easily morph back and forth. Again, just my opinion.

Tuli is more a 3t than an LDE. He is 290, but I think he will play at 300 in the pro's. To your point I think he would be a very good 4i on run downs. I think both he and Gervon Dexter could be similar players to the guys SF have played inside when they went to the SB in Buckener and Armstead

i know many on here want a 1 tech but ill gladly take a 3 tech DT if he is on par with the other players left on the board

I'm the resident USC homer so I'm super familiar with him. He reminds me of Osa Odighizuwa with a high-motor and relentless drive on plays. Osa is stronger but Tuli has some more twitch to him. Right now, I think he's a second rounder but a lot will change between now and April.

@darthseinfeld is right, he's a natural 3Tech. He does have the dreaded "portion flex" that Stephen drools over.
