The problems on this team run so deep it is absurd to point to one or two players and proclaim that so and so has to go.
In todays NFL you have to be sound in every area and exceptional in a few as well. Trying to accurately diagnosis a fix for this team is like trying to bottle smoke.
1) Turnover differential. You can not be an elite or good team for that matter when your negative in turnovers over the course of a season. Romo needs to really become more aware of situations and protect the ball better. Also, as much as I love Barber, sure seems like he put it on the field ALOT this year.
2) Leading the league in penalties is just unacceptable. Again, historically you are not going to find many teams who are successful who have accomplished this.
3) Poor special teams play. The only part of our special teams that is solid is our field goal kicking. The coverages and returns on punt and kicks is very poor
4) Poor tackling on defense, specifically in the secondary really hurt coming down the stretch.
5) And finally, the offensive performance of this team. This offense is not dynamic, is predictable and doesnt adjust well to what the defense is doing. While I was a fan of bringing R. WIlliams here, my god does he have a long way to go before he is'nt just a jump ball receiver. Has he ever had a receivers coach in Detroit who has coached him to run a simple route??? The fact that Oqwens only had two 100 yard games this year shows just how deep the problems are. We are dictated to by the defense and cannot get our playmakers in position to make plays. The left guard play was so bad that it affected the whole o-line and I believe with Kosier/Holland healthy the line is fixable.
