Last week was an abberation.....I felt like it was last week and his week proved it

Even without turnovers, we held the chiefs to 17. Maybe if we managed to score a touchdown instead of kicking that field goal when we were in the red zone, the outcome of this game would have been different.

Allen dropped a pick. Carter dropped a pick that could of been a pick 6. There were in position to get two turnovers right there. But, did not make the plays.

Yeah Dez lost us the game. The fact that we stopped going to him is what lost us the game. Instead we needed to dink and dunk to Witten or toss the ball to Murray.

only surrendered 17 points with 2 two turnovers and bad field position all game...the defense was not the problem at all.

They just protected the football all day really well.

I wouldn't say this game proves it was an abberation. They just didn't need to force anything.

Jamaal Charles is a little better than David Wilson too.

^^ It's hard to get pressure when the other team is getting rid of the ball so quickly.

Exactly. They just played like a well coached team and got a few breaks.

It was a good game.

Dallas will have games like this all year though. Our offense has no killer instinct and it's not dynamic.

The players did well today but the lack of creativity just killed us. Dink and dunked our way to a loss.

Defense was fantastic btw.

Let's keep each thread of a different topic on that specific topic. Dez's drop has no relevance in a thread about turnovers.

That being said, I too felt like last week was a fluke. I think we'll definitely be better at causing turnovers this year because 1) you can't be much worse than we were last year, 2) Kiffen has a history of being a turnover machine, and 3) our production in the preseason and the game against the Giants showed our improvement at forcing turnovers.

But you can't expect 6 turnovers a game every week. I'm not surprised that we didn't cause any today because the Chiefs aren't a turnover team. I created a thread immediately after the Giants game saying we shouldn't expect turnovers in the Chiefs game because they rely on their running game and Alex Smith is more of a bus driver than a slinger like Eli.

The sad thing is, our defense looked so bad last week that had we only forced 5 turnovers, the Giants probably would have won. This week was different. We didn't force any turnovers but our defense played a great game. The defense gave the offense so many chances.

I would like to see some consistency though. We let Eli slice and dice us last week. Will we let all good QBs slice and dice us? Or will we shut QBs down like we did this week? All in all, we should be excited about our defense. Now, the offense......

Of course last week's 6 TOs was an aberration. I'm pretty sure we all knew that, didn't we? So was the passing yardage.

What's of bigger concern was the two TOs today. The Dunbar fumble was carelessness, and Romo's turnover came from holding it too long. Backbreakers, both of them. That said, we still had a chance to actually win that game with 4 minutes left. We were lucky to even be that close, because the defense played great (and won the LoS battle against a good OL).

I don't think Dez cost us the game but Romo went to him late and he dropped a 40 yard pass wide open. Team loss
