A. Brown is considered the fastest guy on the team...but Turpin had a step or 2 on him...we dont know what he can do but I sure hope the OC gives it a full workout to see. Again i've seen him break games wide open at TCU, and fully admit thats much diferent than the NFL but speed is speed and he has it with the ability to move side to side at full speed.

Yeah not being able to just outrun AB is nothing to hold against the guy. There aren't 5 receivers in the NFL who can just run by AB. Gotta put some kinda move on him or get in a little shove to create separation but if it's just a footrace you're not just blowing by that guy.

A little insight though on being the short fast guy.. There was a time in my life when I was as fast and quick as Turpin.. and since I wasn't playing against SEC or NFL defenders I could pretty much get a step on anybody I played. The problem was that if a guy was 6 inches taller and had a foot and a half reach advantage that meant that I had to do more than get a step.. I had to get two or three because if it was just a step the ball was going to pass right through the defender's arms on the way down to me. So even having a step, the short guy is essentially covered. So Turpin's major contribution likely won't be running past people.. it will be on quick cuts where he can use his quickness to create instant separation then use his open field running ability to turn short passes into longer gains.

Fortunately, Turpin has been the short, fast guy his whole life.. So he knows fully well how to use his gifts to play the game.. I think he will do well..

very true on the range and having a step, its sounds crazy but you want to lean towards overthrowing that guy because of it.

Yeah either overthrowing or even better make it into a slight bend toward the ball. If it's not coming straight down instead is off to one side or the other the angle for the defender becomes that much more difficult and the maneuverability of the smaller guy becomes that much more of an advantage. As long as the receiver has that ability to track the ball and adjust to it and the QB knows how to use that. Receivers are almost always going to be better at tracking the ball and getting to it and a DB is going to be at or near max effort just trying to keep up so changing direction will be out of the question for most of them.

Exactly and Turpin showed he can actually float toward the cone well in College also so you can fade him away from the Saftey....

Turpin is the perfect weapon for the slot and deep threat with his 4.29 speed, quickness, agility, and shiftiness to attack all areas of the field.

Ive never seen anything like it to be honest. NO franchise is run where the owner tells them who to play. Any smart OC would be using Pollard to the fullest. Not in Dallas.
