I think it’s mental. He’s not fumbled after securing the ball and during a run back. He’s muffing the catch. That tells me he’s too anxious and wanting to do something big before concentrating on doing the basic function.Surprised Turpin has not broken it big for a TD run back... he's easy to trip up at 155 pounds.
So he needs to be un-touched, ..and badly we've had untimely special teams penalties after he's brought a 50+ run
Odd how the fumbles came at late end of the season. He was well secured for most of the season.
i theorized that since he has played in back to back football seasons between USFL and NFL, and he's only 155 pounds
Could he be wearing down some on both physical and mental level at this point ?
Only reason I was saying CD was because of his past experience as a punt returner. Can’t afford another Turpin muffed punt deep in their territory.NOPE, cant risk cd bit im sure someone can do it, just fair catch it.. however haven't done it all year also dangerous, just let KT ride..
although KT made the PB so maybe his yips are over. its happens with kickers and other areas of the team, can flip the script and give us a return TD and all is forgiven ..
The Pro Bowl is a fan popularity contest, not a body if work.I truly thing our coaching needs to be better. Lots of mental mistakes every game it seems. I was surprised he made the pro bowl. Just wasn't feeling the sizzle as they say.
Seems to be letting it too far into his body .. should be correctable..Well you do realize that the punt teams in the NFL have guys who can actually punt with hangtime and accuracy....and they have a punt team with a whole goal of not allowing returners to get to the outside? I believe Turpin was a top 5 punt return average in the league. The only legitimate complaint about Turpin is hanging onto the ball.
Me, too. And that’s not because Turpin doesn’t give me pause. But Dak has been turning the ball over every game, and pick 6 turnovers at that. But moreso than the turnovers, which are bad enough, he was absolutely putrid in the Warshington game. Very poor pocket awareness, happy feet and not seeing the field well at all. He looked like a rookie, 4th round pick playing.I’m more nervous about Dak than Turpin.
The muffed punts are beginning to look like his signature.Still waiting for Turpin to have a signature game.
you think we would get down 27 -0 to team that could baelkry nuster 20 PPG agint our D who barely gives up 23 PPg? doubt that it would be that bad this will be a tight game and whomever makes the most 2nd half mistakes, loses. Got to come out and play as clean a game as possible and we win.I hope Turpin breaks won, but if I had to make a bet it would be he would fumble before breaking one. Honestly, I’d take a no fumble, no TD return offset right now. Tom Brady doesn’t need the added help of short fields.
The Jags were able to come back because their defense effectively shut down the Chargers in the 2nd half. And really, beginning after the last Lawrence INT of the 1st half. The Chargers had 7 possessions after that and managed 2 field goals. Another FG or a TD instead of one of the FGs and the Chargers most likely win.
Dallas’ problem in coming back from 27-0 is that I don’t believe they would hold Tampa and the GOAT to only 1 field goal.
So true. Getting the ball put back half the distance to the goal based on a penalty as bad as a fumble In many regardsMy biggest issue with Special Teams is the stupid penalties that put us in crappy field position. I swear, we must lead the league in ST penalties!!
Both Buffalo and Cincy games were surprisingly close for teams that were in or contended for SB last yearyou think we would get down 27 -0 to team that could baelkry nuster 20 PPG agint our D who barely gives up 23 PPg? doubt that it would be that bad this will be a tight game and whomever makes the most 2nd half mistakes, loses. .
too bad this isn't a team without their qb as Buff and cinci got lucky to win , different game with healthy qbs. sometimes luck is a help to going deep in the playoffs.
right , and Tua and LJ would have easily closed that small gap imhop..luck my man we are in need of some of the good kind as we have been snakebit for a while now.. all these big game getting namesBoth Buffalo and Cincy games were surprisingly close for teams that were in or contended for SB last year
I don’t think Dallas will fall behind 27-0 in the 1st half. But the Jags did that because of 4 INTs and Dak and the receivers have shown they’re certainly capable of turning the ball over multiple times.you think we would get down 27 -0 to team that could baelkry nuster 20 PPG agint our D who barely gives up 23 PPg? doubt that it would be that bad this will be a tight game and whomever makes the most 2nd half mistakes, loses. Never that many times lets back off the drama trying to be created, we had few mistakes but most games they easily overcame them..I don’t think Dallas will fall behind 27-0 in the 1st half. But the Jags did that because of 4 INTs and Dak and the receivers have shown they’re certainly capable of turning the ball over multiple times.
In my opinion, the only way Dallas wins this game is to play mistake free football and run the ball effectively. They can not have any drive extending defensive or special teams penalties.
Like you said, lady luck needs to be on their side, or at least neutral. There will be some plays that could go either way, such as a fumble by TB, that needs to go Dallas’ way. Or a called/uncalled infraction. Regardless of the why, officials have as great an impact on who wins as the players and coaches.
There ya go!Probably not. They’re definitely not kicking away from him. He’s come reasonably close to breaking it on 2 returns; however, 1 was negated by a penalty. He’s fumbled more than he’s had big punt returns.
And his kick returns are worse except he hasn’t lost any fumbles (he did muff one at the goal line). His average kick off return is 24 yards. Given the lack of game breaking returns and the chance for a lost fumble, they would be better off downing every kick and taking the ball at the 25.
I trust Zack Martin and that’s about it……he’s the one contstant like death and taxes.I'm nervous for the whole damn team at this point. I don't trust Dak, the defense or special teams. Not one player I trust.
