I live in humboldt county -- folks here call where you live "southern CA"
well its actually central valley. but 1hr south of sacramento so its basically Norcal. you guys are north north cali.

Wonder why the game isn't being broadcasted in those 2 little white area's on the map? That's kind of odd is you ask me. You get a game at noon and then what a little house of the prarie rerun?? Fox has the doubleheader this week, you should be getting some kind of game at 3. That's bull**** if you ask me.

Could be because that area has two home teams -- 49'ers play early and Raiders play later. That doesn't make sense though -- we have that every week. Could have something to do with no Raider sell out.

OR it could be that your local stations are cheap. They do have to pay for the games -- and the might think that their ratings will be worse with the Raiders playing on the opposite channel.

What does the little white area mean? That you won't get the second half of the double header? If that's what it means... why? Why wouldn't you get a double header like the other 99% of Americans?

That just doesn't make sense to me...

yeah every time we make trips to and from LA I always think -- damn, Stockton. we've got a long way to go -- I hope this fog lets up.

It has to do with market area and the 49ers. They won't show a competing game, even if it is in a different timeslot. So CBS has the doubleheader here. It's not FOX's fault, it's the NFL/49er's fault. I've emailed FOX about it several time. Nothing they can do.

That makes sense... and is probably an accurate guess.

That makes sense -- I seem to remember that happening in LA all the time back in the day as well.

Anyone want to take a crack at explaining the white zone in that state that looks like a mitten?

Well that is the Detroit area so they are getting the bengals and detroit game on cbs at 3 and reruns of Alias and stargate on Fox.

Is that considered to be part of - what, the Brown's market as well? The Colts?

I guess. I really don't know. But if they have the Ticket through Direct TV, they can watch the Dallas and Washington game. If not cowboy fans are not going to be happy.

Hey if you Nor-Cal guys want, I'll broadcast the game to you. BTW, I'm not too far from stockton. I live in merced.

wow ya that is pretty close. I assume you have NFL ticket?
I got comcast digital cable because of the on demand thing, but then I realized after that DirectTv has a monopoly on the ticket... :banghead:

It's not the station being cheap. It's because even though the Raiders game won't sell out AND it won't be on TV, it's still their market area and the local stations can't show a competing game.

Yeah I know the feeling. I have had Dish Network for some time now, hoping that one day they will carry the ticket. Another poster on here told me the other day that when the contract expires between Direct TV and the NFL, that maybe other dish companies may have the oppertunity to have the Sunday Ticket. But I have no idea when the contract expires. :banghead:
