TV Maps

Yeah who knows....last week was a Fox doubleheader and there wasn't a 1:00 Fox game when the Browns were on CBS. Also if you look at the map it says "Areas in GREY have no games due to NFL rules."

I'm no expert, but I think the grey areas are markets with teams under the blackout. Maybe no game can be aired in that market during game time of a blacked out home team. Just speculation on my part.

I don't know that the NFL Black out makes economical sense for the league anymore.
It's sort of an antiquated rule that perhaps made sense at one point.

The way I see it, your either going to go to the game (can afford to) of your local team or you're not (can't).

The NFL has priced so many people out of its attendance market. These people can't go.
The fact that the game will not be televised has little to no impact.

What the NFL does lose is ad revenue and future fans.

Part of it is just the number of games. There are only 16 regular seasons games which means they have to charge more per game. If the NFL had a 1,000 game season like MLB the tickets could sell for $10-25 but they can't at 16. If the NFL is smart, they will have a SINGLE TEAM NFL-Sunday Ticket where you pay a smaller amount and just get your team's games that way even fans at home are still paying.

Totally could be but I know the Browns weren't blacked out last week when they played the Bengals. I wish we could get a concrete answer.....can someone get the NFL Office on the horn and get some info :D

teams have 72 hrs before kickoff to sell out then its a blackout. so i think we should know blackout results tomorrow maybe?

The weekly blackout watch

Posted by Mike Florio on October 6, 2010 9:18 PM ET
With four teams on byes and only 14 games being played this weekend, five of them fall on the blackout watch list.

In Ohio's Queen City, a 53-game streak of sellouts is in jeopardy. Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reported on Tuesday that the Bengals still have plenty of tickets to sell to avoid a blackout.

In Michigan, the Lions are 4,500 seats short of a sellout against the Rams, per Tim Twentyman of the Detroit News.

In Arizona, the Cardinals expect to sell out their home game against the Saints, the 47th straight sellout at University of Phoenix Stadium.

In Oakland, a blackout of the visit from the Chargers is presumed; the nine-game streak of non-sellouts is the only thing the Raiders have done consistently lately.

...

To summarize, the Raiders and Bills games likely will be blacked out, the Cardinals game won't be blacked out, and the Lions and Bengals games could be blacked out.

I usually like veetle the best, but I find these to be the best if a veetle feed cuts out or whatnot:

channelsurfing.net

atdhe.net (fyi, atdhe is my favorite because it aggregates a couple of the different feeds i.e. v-share, veetle, etc)
