When asked on ESPN.com Chat who the hardest DB to face is, @DeseanJackson10 say he can't say because nobody covers him 1 on 1
Bulletin Board Material Zoners?

Was this really worth a thread? I didn't see anyone the eagles played last season that had a DB that could cover him 1 on 1. So he is pretty much right.

You must be joking. You must have missed the 8 out of 14 games that he had 3 catches or less.

Or the 8 out of 14 games that he had 50 yards or less.

He wasn't even the best WR on his own team.

..and no its not bulletin material because the only player that really worries about D Jag, is D Jag.

You play a safety deep the entire game and Jackson and his one route are completely held in check.

Great post ...... glad we finally agree on something.

Ironically, Mike Jenkins and Terence Newman have pretty much shut him down for the most part since he's been in the league. He's had a couple of big plays against us but not much else. And Jenkins completely shut him down back in 09.

He's talking about 1 on 1, NO safety help!!!! I doubt there are any DBs that can cover him 1 on 1 with NO safety help.

He is right tho..... But it applies basically to every WR. Even Revis would have trouble guarding a WR 1v1 without a the comfort of a safety.

Ah.. well then his statement is completely pointless and ignorant, because there's really no receiver who's ever left one on one on the outside without at least a safety in the area. At least not one who's any kind of a threat.

That's like bragging that you can bust somebody up in a one on one pickup basketball game. Hey, that's great, but its not how the game is played.

By the way.. i can name two DB's who can and have shut him down. Newman and Jenkins.

he had a 91-yard touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys and also finished the game with a personal best 210 receiving yards. Jackson again ended the regular season as the team's leading receiver with 1,056 yards.

9/15/08: 6 catches, 110 yards (Cowboys win 41-37)
12/28/08: 2 catches, 46 yards (infamous 44-6 game)
11/8/09: 2 catches, 29 yards (Cowboys win 21-16)
1/3/10: 2 catches, 36 yards (Cowboys win 24-0)
1/9/10: 3 catches, 14 yards, 1 TD (Cowboys win 34-14)
12/12/10: 4 catches, 210 yards, 1 TD (Eagles win 30-27) career high yards and TD reception
1/2/11: DNP

Yes, in 2009 we stopped him, otherwise not so much.

I really hate this guy. He is probably right, almost no one in the league can cover him 1 on 1, given enough time. And that ain't gonna happen under Ryan's watch this year.

I'd have given anything to see Mel Blount pound the snot out of this guy back in the day.

Desean Jackson is a showboating ***** who will get seriously injured pulling one of his idiotic celebrations one day. He'll get his.

Nobody on the cowboys roster can cover you one on one anyway. :laugh2:

Again.. not Revis Island himself could cover ANY receiver in the entire league 1 on 1, given enough time.

So again, Jag's statement is pointless. This isn't pickup football. The game isn't played 1 on 1.

Still upset he was in our 'box'.

Guy is a playmaker, sure it may be one route but it opens up so many things for you offensively when you have to account for him over the top. He's made the Eagles a better team and I'm not rue-ing quite as much as I normally would because we've got two pro-bowl caliber WRs right now, but I don't like that we've had guys like Jackson and Harvin were not even an option on draft day.
