A little longer than five minutes but still...Rams hired former Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan as their defensive coordinator.

Edit: Maybe merge with the "Spags" thread.

The Rams are an up-and-coming team with a lot of talent on the defensive side: Finnegan, J. Jenkins (who looked a lot better than MO in his rookie year), Brockers, Chris Long, Laurenitis, etc etc. I wish RR the best in St. Louis

I guess the Rams won't be getting a lot of turnovers next year. :p:

They have some pieces in place on defense & extra draft picks form the skins. I think they are on the rise.

Won't help if the secondary plays as soft as he had them play here.

Hear this nonsense every year and it hasn't happened and probably won't happen.

Ryan's three man pass rush won't help the Rams much either.

I disagree. Jeff Fisher is a great coach, and even though the rams weren't the greatest team they were a major improvement over the previous year. He's made a tremendous impact on the team, at least in the games I've seen. Look at how they nearly swept the 49ers, and went 1-1 with the seahawks (2 very tough teams).

Just what is says. Not surprised as this has been a rumor the past week or so. Fisher knows him well and they needed an upgrade at the DC position. But, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't St. Louis run a 4-3?

Either way, the more time that passes, the happier I am that we let him go. I certainly don't think he's the reason we struggled on D this year, but I like the switch to the Tampa 2. Also, I think Marinelli was good hire.

Jeff Fisher is not a great coach. He's good but not great. That word gets thrown out way too loosely these days. The Rams still have a lot to prove before I give them any props.

His press conferance, before he plays us, should be real entertaining.

Bit of a demotion for him. He goes from free reign and carte blanche to run his defense and scheme anyway he wants using all of his handpicked assistants, to a Field Sargent under Fisher and Dave McGinnis. Then again, that might not be a bad thing for him.
