You must be new. Some of the greatest defences ever put bounties on players. I dont care about being dirty. Id rather have dirty than the orange slices under the goal posts losers we have now.

Id like to have a good team without it.

Didn't we trade up and give up a second round pick to get Mo and avoid being burned on long passes? Didn't we spend $50 million to upgrade the other CB to avoid being burned by long passes?

......its becoming apparent, can have all the CB-power ya' want, with no safety help or coordination its worthless, especially when pass rush is inconsistent

Saftety and OLine offseason... Church will return hopefully, would've been nice to at least see Johnson with some limited game action to evaluate, apparently practice evaluation lacks with coaching staff.

So you are saying that Payton made Brees the talent that he is?
I hope you get what makes you happy and if it makes the Cowboys better Im in. Im just unsure about wanting a man with a reputation for being dirty. Seriously he got suspended for a whole year. Ndamukong Suh is great but Im not sure about wanting him on my team.

Just click on this link and you tell me??

http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/2580/drew-brees

I am not saying Brees didn´t have the talent but Sean Payton got the most out of it and he could certainly do that with Tony because you can say what you want about Romo but I can´t imagine someone saying he doesn’t have the talent.

At the end of the day we both want the same thing, for the cowboys to be super bowl contenders year in and year out, I believe Sean Peyton would do that with this team, if you don´t, then more power to you.

lol sure.
Honestly I want JG to win out and limp all the way to the SB. Seems legit, right?

Every Cowboy fan would love that obviously, but at the same time “almost” every Cowboy fan would want to be married to Giselle but it aint happening my friend. Cheers.

"@espn_macmahon: Jerry admits talk about Cowboys' direction under Jason Garrett rings hollow. So Sean Payton's phone should ring soon.

http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/_/id/8663258/dallas-cowboys-lacking-progress-jason-garrett

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Here's guessing Sean Payton had one heck of a happy Thanksgiving.

The suspended, soon-to-be free-agent coach's leverage keeps getting stronger. The likelihood of his good buddy Jerry Jones making a high-dollar pitch to hire Payton away from the New Orleans Saints increases every time the Dallas Cowboys perform like a poorly prepared pee wee team in Jerry's $1.2 billion football palace.

Matthew Emmons/US PresswireJason Garrett is giving Jerry Jones less and less reason to keep faith in him with the Cowboys' continued poor play, particularly at the start of games.

The rest of the Cowboys' season is really about Jason Garrett justifying his boss' wavering belief that he's the right guy to coach this team.

Can you come up with any good reasons right now?

Jerry couldn't after the Cowboys followed the normal format of digging a huge hole at home and fighting hard in a failed comeback bid.

It continues to be all process and no progress under Garrett. It reached the point after a 38-31 to the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving Day that even Jerry had to admit any talk about believing this mediocre team is headed in the right direction rings hollow.

Thanks of posting. Some of those are pretty funny.

JJ isnt optimistic about the playoffs? lol No kidding.

I wish everyone would just stop talking about Payton coming here to coach. Hes not coming, and the last thing this team needs is some playoff winning, culture changing, superbowl champion coach calling the shots around here.

Fify.

It's just a lame excuse for why his D let them score every possession.

I agree, both he and Garrett seem to heap praise on the opponent after a loss as though they just played the '85 Bears, '99 Rams or something. As if to say that they are so great that they would've beaten any team today. It's a cop out imo.

As much as I would love for Payton to come on back, I don't see him doing so for these reasons alone.

1. JJ can't discuss an opening with Payton until the end of the season. Might be too late with the commish allowing Payton and NO the opportunity to workout a contract.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8...n-new-orleans-saints-talk-contract-suspension

2. Payton built the Saints and has a SB ring to stand on for a lifetime. He has a tailor made offense that can score at will and are always in the game. Their only knock has been defense. Why leave that for Dallas?

3. Owner and GM JJones....

1. I think that if JJ's interested in Payton he'll find a way to get the message relayed to him.

2. The Saints are only relevant because of Payton and are winning, the Cowboys aren't winning and still get more exposure than the Saints, Texans, and Saints combined. The coach that bring the championship back to Dallas will be set for life, not just locally (as in New Orleans) but nationally i.e. Jimmy Johnson. His children live in Dallas, that's a reason to leave.

3. I know that this is a tough one to overcome but I think that the coach that comes in has to have skins on the wall to be effective and Payton has them. When JJ wants to make one of his splashy wr or cb drafts or fa signings then Payton could step in and stand firm on a C or G. Why? Because JJ knows if word got out that a coach as accomplished as Payton wanted oline help and he decided to go with a wr, the football world would eat him alive when the oline stinks up the joint.

Interesting comment about Garrett being judged on playoffs.

Hadn't heard that before, but that's pretty telling.

That's the one that jumped out to me as well. It's almost like Jerry is saying, "If we don't make the playoffs, Garrett is gone."

I'm good with that.

Yeah man. Is he bringing Drew Brees with him?

Yeah, cause if not, the coach killer will have Payton out of here within 2 years.
If Romo is the QB Payton will be scratching his head the same way all the other coaches have when everything starts falling apart.

You do realize it was Payton who found Romo, likes Romo, and wanted Romo in New Orleans before Parcells said no way and he lucked into Drew Brees due to him failing a physical in Miami. The same Romo that QBed a team to beat the 13-0 Saints coached by Payton.

But, don't let the facts hit you on your way out the door of agenda.

So he didn't know what down it was, and instead of just asking called a QB sneak anyway.

Incompetence aside, JG is also full of crap.

Yep. That's pretty much how I read into it too. It's funny how the little things come out in interviews.
