Tony Romo's statement was a classy concession speech. Romo – not Jerry Jones, not Jason Garrett – declared Dak Prescott deserves QB job.

Class act. Always.

Didn't play the same sport, but do rep the same town. Wish I could've been Tony's teammate. That's the best compliment I can give.

Between Tony Romo and Dirk Nowtizki, Dallas couldn't have asked for two better guys to represent the city.

Much respect for @tonyromo after that presser. True passion and love for the game. I get where he's coming from. Injures take a toll on you

— Jake Long (@JakeLong77) November 15, 2016

That @tonyromo presser was the realist. Kudos to him for allowing himself to be so vulnerable, honest and transparent. #selfless

I think he stayed in touch with Witten (and probably Romo as a side-note) through the "I am second" thing.
Not sure exactly, but I think that's it.
Murray is still a close friend too..

Think he's either working for or has worked with team recently.

A compliment from Larry Fitz is equivalent to one from someone like Witten. Getting noticed by them from outside the locker room means you're doing something right. Those that have fought the Romo hate mainly from the media can enjoy more vindication not that it was needed. He's been all one can ask for.

Yes I'm missing what your "misunderstood" means. Care to explain it?
It was meant to be a silence ending statement where Romo grudgingly accepts the situation and pledges to be a good teammate and not to be a distraction. It was received as a self eulogy that was given moments before Romo was taken out behind the Star and put down, but only after he walked up to Dak and handed him a certificate declaring him the franchise QB for the next 50 years.
