Two Cowboys have me concerned

I'm really glad these knee-jerk boo-hoo about Ware posters aren't coaching the team.

What happened when Ware turned loose, ran straight upfield, past the QB? Oh yeah, that's right, the rest of the Dline was standing there with their thumb in their butts, as Young took off to the left.

Give me a break. We had 2 sacks. This is to a team that is only allowing 1.5 per game this season, and was only allowing 1.3 before facing us. Those of you who cry about Ware, are obviously slobbering over Merriman. Guess how many sacks he had against TEN? Against an immobile QB? That's right - 0.

None of the team's we have faced so far have given up more than 7 sacks. All 3 have played 4 games. The only team, I repeat - ONLY team - to sack Washington has been the Cowboys, and they did it 6 times.

Get over it. Eventually, we'll face the Oakland's of the world, and Ware can pad his stat line like your precious Merriman.

all you have to do is look at the WR output. we are doing great there and we are running the ball. there is only so much to go around. your WRs should be your main weapons since they can get down field, and they are.

we won the game by 31. what else do you want. its not about how many sacks you get, its about wining. they wanted to contain a very young QB and not giving him room to run. they didn't want to give them any momentum or make him feel good. they did that. it was by design more so than anything else.

This thread is so stupid. Everytime I seen a stop at the line of scrimmage Ware was the one leading the way. I'm sorry, but unlike Merriman Ware has other things to do on the field besides rush on every down.

So that wasn't Merriman that blew the tackle in coverage yesterday?

There is just one Cowboy player that has me seriously concerned right now - Mike Vanderjagt. Kickers have been the difference between winning and losing for this team and one has the feeling that this Eagles-Cowboys game will come down to a field goal.

Where has Crayton been so far? W/ TO and TG getting so much attention, and w/ Witten getting his share, Crayton should have more than 2 catches in 3 games, IMO.

I didn't get the game in my area yesterday...did they just not run too many 3wr sets?

With Newmann handling more punt returns these days, the only times you ever hear his name is when he fair catches the ball at the 20, it seems.

I think MV will right the ship sooner than later. My concern will be BP letting him KO again. I hope that experiment ended yesterday.

I realize Suisham will be taking a roster spot, but at this point, his consistent KOs are much more important than some 3rd stringer who may or may not record a ST tackle.

I think we should expect more from Ware. We drafted him with the 11th pick in the entire draft last year. A lot of very good pass rushers were passed over to get Ware. Why? Because we thought him to be the best pass rusher-period. He wasn't drafted to stop the run, or chase down TEs, or for any other reason, than to sack or at least put pressure on the QB.
So far he hasn't done that this year. Anyone who talks about the intricacies of the game & all that crap is only being a homer and covering up this fact. I blame the scheme & concept of this ultra-conservative defense as much or more than I blame Ware.

Man, BP, you spent an 11th pick on the guy-use him! Move him around. Stunt him. Blitz another LB on his side on passing downs to take out the double team. We paid too much for this guy to be using him like we are. Open it up, and watch him explode! Isn't that what a 3-4 defense is all about?!

Your expectations are to fixated and directed at certain aspects. The dynamics of football changes every week with a team as talented as we are. Teams try different things each week and doing so opens certain players. The importance is when that happens that player steps up. This team has way to much talent to house really good individual stats. This will be a TEAM spreading it out all over on Offense and Defense. They are rotating constantly trying to keep guys fresh and prevent the injuries that come with being tired.

Look to the team stats for a better idea of what is truly happening. For example look how well our team is doing with sacks as a whole instead of just Ware.

Great Point. As for Witten the Cowboys didnt throw much so nobody had great receiving stats, As for Ware I dont grade him by Sacks what if they had max protection all game or they doubled him a lot then other players need to step up....Grade them at the end of the season, not end of a game

If your TE is your 1st option on offence then you don't have a very good offence. Witten will get his catches, when it's all said and done he'll probably have about 40 or so for 600ish yards. when we start playing better teams that can cover TO and Glenn fairly consistanly is when Witten will become a bigger factor.

As for Ware geez, the guy is in his 2nd year and apart from Newman and Roy he's probably our best defencive player,
if we rushed him on every down he'd probably have A LOT more sacks but the guy can do other stuff besides just rushing when he does rush he usually gets preasure how is that a bad thing?

Well if that's not his game then what is? he's not a cover guy - we didn't draft him to be a Seth Joyner, we took him to be LT, who he was compared to.

then maybe you should convince the bonehead defensive coordinator to use him properly...he can only do what he's being told to do...if he spends 1/3 of the time dropping into coverage, naturally he isnt going to post big sack numbers

David

I'm hardly concerned about Ware or Witten. Ware was great in the first two games and Witten has been solid...although his drops are a tad worrisome. The 2 guys I'm worried about are Ayodele and Vanderjagt.

Dallas has seemed suceptible to running plays on the perimeter and I think part of it is due to Ayodele just being a step slow on helping out.
