the stars franchise is the most well run franchise in this market.

They recognized right away they should have not brought in avery and lucked out with him getting suspended before they put him on waivers.

and they kicked him out with some of their best players injured and really hurting this season.

How Sean Avery is slotted number 10 surprises me. He should be a little higher.

Yeah, I read that list today. Just one opinion. You could pick any 10 out of over 50 guys, and nobody would blink.

One GLARING omission from that list is that of one Mr. Brett Favre!!!

Nobody in recent history has done more to disrupt, disorganize, confuse or "hold hostage" any one franchise more than Favre. And not just for that latest little hissy-fit he threw last year with the Packer/Jets thing.

He's been doing his tap-dance for years, craving the microphone and cameras FAR more than any T.O. or Stephon Marbury out there. This "All Time Great Packer-For Life" showed his true colors the minute the folks in Green Bay did anything other than just salivate over him. The slightest hint of him being treated as anything less than the Lord Himself, and Favre retreats into his little, self-absorbed, inwardly important, and selfish world.

HE'S THE ONE who actually acted first and announced retirement. The Packers did nothing to diss him except to say "OK. Thanks for everything. Have a good life", and Farve gets all pouty and upset that they didn't respond the way they did the OTHER DOZEN TIMES he was thinking about retirement. They didn't start crying and threatening to commit suicide over his getting out. The world wasn't coming to an end in Green Bay over Favre's retiring, and little Brett just couldn't, for the life of him, figure this new reaction out. "Uh oh, they're ACTUALLY going to take me up on it!!!"

Not being able to live with that, and realizing that his ATTENTION light was at a flicking end, he then set about holding the organization hostage, and blackmailing the Green Bay Packers and their fans to an unnecessary and headling-grabbing soap opera. Thereby getting the attention he so desperately craves.

He ends up with the J-E-T-S Jets and proceed's to tear up the locker room and divide the team by getting his own private office/locker, and refusing to have anything to do with his team mates except for his "prima-dona" practice schedule and actual game times.

All this from a guy with a single Super Bowl Ring, and even that came during a bad year for football. The last four teams standing were the Jaguars and the Panthers in their third years, and a pre-Bilicheck and mediocre Patriot team. Any other QB with only one skeptical Ring in 17 years would've been long gone in the NFL. But not "The Chosen One", the "Messiah" of Green Bay!

Sorry for the rant, but any list of "bad actors" in sports without Brett Favre on it is invalid, and is short probably THE MOST disruptive character to come along in decades.......................

The most damaging EGOS in sports come from the sports journalists that write more speculation and rumor than actual fact; the ones that *MUST* get their mugs and their 2cents in EVERY SINGLE GOLLY DERN DAY on TV/Radio/print... those are the EGOS that are most hurting sports in general.

Yes. And I can't stand Manny Ramirez. One of the very few athletes I absolutely LOATHE, but I don't see how he's ranked this high. He's won 2 World Series and went to LA and made them a contender pretty quickly.

Is he a douchenozzle? Absolutely.

Is he low class and unprofessional? Absolutely.

But the guy doesn't prevent his teams from winning. And boy does it pain for me to say it.

And really, Al Davis is a bit tough to put at #1. Yes, he's been a horrible owner the past 10 years, but he's done A TON for the NFL and the game of football and in the 70's and 80's he pretty much had a terrific franchise.

I like to think the Rangers are the same. I'm a huge Ranger fan and I gotta tell ya, I'm glad Avery is back. I hope and pray he stays quiet but am glad he's back. We are a way better team with him.

He makes the Rangers a better team, he shouldn't be on that list at all.

I'd also like to add an EGO.

The collective egos of those responsible for the Hall of Shame... I mean Fame. Too many have been left off the ballots, and I'm not talking JUST Cowboys either, because of agendas, instead of the players stats and direct affect on the game when they played.

Then there are the EGOS of those at ESPN. Can we get just one day of unbias'd sports news instead of hanging onto Favre's jockstrap, or touting how great the Steelers or 40whiners are?

I don't think any baseball player should be on this list. Short of murdering a teammate, baseball players have very little influence over each other, especially during games. Each player is their own little planet out there, there's no one to really blame for not hitting more balls or making an error or not striking out enough batters.

Of course, no honest list of "damaging ego's" would complete without the ONLY OWNER EVER in NFL history to be stripped of his team for criminal and mafioso activity: Mr. Eddie DeBartolo of the ESPN beloved Whiners.....

The saga was spun and shelved and quited down by the "Niner loving" sports media, but we all know that this franchise, an impostor to begin with, has basically been in the crapper since it's owner got convicted, sentenced, and stripped of all ownership and power over the organization.

Even the psychotic and unshelved Al Davis isn't stupid enough to allow such a thing. And they got the nuggets to put Jerry Jones on the list to boot!!!

If Jerry Jones EVER did so much as jaywalk or run a stop sign, they'd have him hanging by a noose without a trial. But this criminal destroys not only his life, but his entire team, and all we ever heard was "Oh, Mr. Debartolo and his family is SOOOO thankfull for all the support and prayers during this trying time." Boomer and the gang were happy accomplices in the farce.

DeBartolo's pompus, egotistical power trip had him thinking he was untouchable and above the law. He singlehandedly ruined an NFL franchise.
