I'm trying to think of what or how this team changed so dramatically, and, I have two reasons that I think changed this team...

1. The Speech

2. The QB change

On number one, it just seem to me that since that Saturday before the Panther game when the Tuna gave that speech, the team has found "renewed strength" or "seems to be playing fun"...

We all know what number two did for the Cowboys...

But, IMO, I think those two things are a very important reason why this team turned around the way it has...

;)

I don't think Bledsoe gets enough credit for throwing that pick at the end of the first half of the Giants game. If he'd have looked to the right as he was supposed to and thrown a TD, we may never have realized what we have in Romo.

Bledsoe took one for the team there and it changed our whole season. How about some props? ;)

Seconded. I've thought for awhile now that Bledsoe realized his skills were declining, but couldn't bring himself to take himself out of the game. (allow myself to introduce.....myself....whatever) So, he played so badly that Parcells had to bench him. My guess is he had that all planned out with Madison beforehand. They go way back.

That is a VERY GOOD point! That play right there is the straw that broke the camel's back...

Had Bledsoe did what the play called for, we may never have seen Romo until MAYBE later on...

Thanks Bledsoe! You are the man...

A more concrete turnaround was the Colts game. I think that was the "it" game for this season. We're sitting at 5-4, a loss puts us back to a depressing .500 and right back with the rest of the division.

I'm still amazed at how huge a win that game was.

  1. Swapping Drew Bledsoe for Tony Romo
  2. Removing Patrick Watkins from the starting lineup.

For some unexplainable reason, the Colts game was a game that I had no worries about, AT ALL...

I was more concerned about most other games, but, that game? pffttttt!!

I knew somehow that that game belonged to the Cowboys...

Oh come on now.

Lets see. In 6 games he gave up somewhere in the neighbourhood of 5-7 deep touchdowns.

Ya gotta remove the homer glasses to see the truth.

Yeah people forget Gramatica was a Pro Bowl kicker for getting injured, I have a feeling he'll be a key for us with the playoffs not too far away...

Somewhere in the neighborhood, doesn't cut it with the big boys.

Davis and Coleman have given up as many TDs as Watkins, including Shockey's TD yesterday.

Ya think? I'd put Watkins at at least three in Philly (and that's only one game) - while I can only think of two for Davis / Coleman. Cooley in washington, and Shockey yesterday.

Watkins gave up 2 TD passes in the Philly game, not 3.

He was the one who Burress pushed off on while the back judge was tripping up Roy.

So he technically gave up 3 TD passes this season.

I need to double check the games, Coleman blew coverage on Cooley, and Davis never reacted on Shockey yesterday. Davis also got caught out of position on Portis' TD run.

I counted the huge play to Smith out of halftime to the 1. Basically, that score's on Watkins. ;) In any case, three huge plays leading to scores. Semantics are awesome.

I really don't think that was all. I can't recall the others. I'd have to check those games, too. Last I saw, a few weeks back, they pinpointed our safeties for 9 TDs. If Roy surrendered 3, and Davis was at 1, that puts Watkins at 5 or so. He was terrible. And since Davis has been back there, while he hasn't been great, the deep plays have been reduced. Could be coincidence. I don't know.

So did alot of our players.

Talk about players out of position, what about yesterday's Tiki Barber run towards the end of the game when the giants got their last score?

And, if they were not out of position, they sure as hell missed alot of tackles on that play!

So did alot of our players.

Dallas has given up 11 passing TDs all season.

3 on Watkins.

3 on Roy.

2 on Henry.

1 on Coleman.

1 on Davis.

1 on Newman.

But hey, let's not let the facts get in the way.

Which game did Newman give up a TD? I cannot recall which one...

He did not give up one last year, right?
