Two interesting players released

I am a Penn State guy so I'm very familiar with Maybin. He's a 1 dimensional pass rusher, always has been. The 228 is basically what he played at as a 4-3 rush end at Penn State.

The time from the end of the season to pre draft workouts is what got him drafted where he was.

Him and Shawne Merriman are buddies I think. Merriman probably had him juiced

Does every tongue in cheek comment go over your head or just mine in this thread? I was bagging on the guy for his weight, not promoting him as a solution here.

I guess its just yours.

you want a former DE/OLB in college and 3-4 OLB to play SS? Do you know that a SS has to be able to cover? Not anyone can play SS. Then you want a 228 pound player to play 3-4 ILB.

Maybin is just a bust, 24 total tackles in 2 years. He is just another workout warrior that looks great in shorts at the combine and gets great combine numbers that shoots him up the board. He can't play football. Bobby Carpenter was a better player.

Your correct because LBs in college like Darren Woodson could not excel in the NFL.
Don't know his speed or cover skills, might be worth a look, we are talking about Buffalo you know

Let's just put this one to bed....

Broaddus was asked the question about Maybin mutliple times today during the training camp practice update chat and he can be quoted saying that he asked front office guys if there was interest and they said "none". I think we are pretty set at the LB position anyways.

Now Jon Stinchcomb is interesting, provides a veteran presence but would only be useful if he can fill the right guard position. The injuries are troubling but I'm sure our trainers could get this guy back to playing good football again. Now to take a page out of Mickey Spags' book "if he is so good then why is he available?".

Now, he looks like this:

Getting this thread back on track, Maybin is a one-hit wonder. The Bills are giving up on him in two years meaning that they already know what he's capable.

Stinchcomb is a bit more intriguing, but at this juncture, the youth movement is in place.

I read that Maybin is back down to 230 and just isn't strong enough at the point of attack. Judging by the pics posted before the combine he juiced up and is now off of them.

So who's going to be the 2011 LB bust?
I'm picking Kerrigan

No way man I go to Purdue have watched all his home games... That guy is a work horse who will do his best to succeed. Plus, he is just a ****ing beast.

LB Aaron Maybin by the Bills and OT Jon Stinchcomb by the Saints.

Maybin's a former first-round pick that Buffalo's giving up on after two seasons. Stinchcomb's a former Pro Bowl (2009) tackle who's battling injuries.

I'm not saying Dallas should jump in line to get them, just that I'm intrigued by them.

maybin a bust. he is only 230 lbs and lacks power. he doesn't fit a 3-4 LB. his own team said, maybe he should move to saftey because he lacks strength and size.

stinchcomb is done......columbo part II
