Two mid-late picks you love & players who seem to always be out of reach

I've been running mock simulations and I def have two players that I am taking after the 4th and late ~90% of the time.

Israel Abanikanda RB (4th RD)
I like Izzy's style of play. I think he does these subtle movements that allows him to keep a full head of steam moving forward. I am fully against getting a RB early in the draft unless it's Gibbs...in the second round. Izzy is one of the top backs going under-the-radar IMO. I am drafting him in the 4th round in probably 90% of my mocks. I usually draft another RB later depending on who's available (McIntosh, Gray, Vaughn, Ibrahim).

Michael Wilson WR (6/7th RD)
I was not aware of him until I was put on at the Senior Bowl. Dude has good size, quick feet, crisp routes, and just seems like he could play all over the field. Couple that with, a run-heavy scheme, and decent production despite missing some time with injury, dude was really flying under the radar. Game tape showed the same, along with his involvement and success in the Senior Bowl, I suspect he will probably move up to the 4th/5th round, where I would still be okay reaching (especially in the 5th). Stanford's other WR is a massive 6'3" 234lb SLOT WR. Interesting and productive player himself, I believe coaches were getting him to work out with the TEs at the bowl game. Something to keep an eye on.

Then there are players that I like, but it is always a reach to get them and they are gone by the next pick.

Calijah Kancey DT
He seems to always be going somewhere in the middle between our first and second picks. I think he probably has one of the more boom-or-bust profiles in the whole draft, but the tape great, but there is some clear red-flag limitations that could pop up in the NFL considering his size. But LOVE the upside. He's the equivalent to Hyatt on offense for me, the ceiling is super high, the floor is def low (higher for Hyatt though).

Tuli Tuipulotu DL
This is another prospect that has decent but not as high ceiling, but a much higher floor. I think this person can play the 3T in our system while also providing flexibility inside and outside. Seems strong against the run and closes well. Also unavailable by the time the 2nd pick comes up.

Rashee Rice WR
Rice seems to anywhere between the 2nd and 3rd round pick. Is Rice better than his projection? I'm not sure, but there is a really strong argument that his is better than his projections. The combine can really elevate his projection.

What say you? Who you got?

Kiper loves him. 6 foot and 280 at DT is a bit of a crap shoot. I probably wouldnt be a buyer at 26.

Later rounds I similarly love Izzy’s ability to make guys miss and keep picking up big yards and the senior bowl was huge for Michael Wilson.

My own two guys would be DeWayne McBride out of UAB. Incredible contact balance, great acceleration and vision. Can probably be had in the 4th or 5th because RB is so deep. For my second guy, Rakim Jarrett out of Maryland has all the tools and just felt misused in an offense with a bad QB.

My just out of reach are Jack Campbell out of Iowa and Dawand Jones Ohio State. Campbell is just a good football player and will end up going early to mid 2nd round. Dawand Jones probably goes pretty close to 26 but he projects pretty clearly as a RT, idk how well a move inside to LG would work out. Steele is coming off an ACL, Tyron cannot be relied on for a full season health wise… we need another lineman but it’s hard to spend a first rounder on a guy who you may be playing out of position and you had someone playing decently at last year pre injury.

I agree. It's hard to validate it over a few too many players. I do wonder if a trade down to the bottom of first/top of second is worth grabbing an extra 3rd/4th. Kancey be damned, there could be an argument depending on how the draft goes and there being some deep positions into the 4th round.

I like Dwayne McBride too. I do think however, he seems to be a little slower than I'd like, but he has tons of tools to work with.

I was looking at LBs today and basically came away Jack Campbell is a brilliant player. He diagnoses the play ultra-fast and is always in position to make a play. He's not the fastest, but when you know where the play is going, you've already got a head start. There are some late tackles Dallas can look at. I'm thinking along the lines Braedon Daniels, Ryan Hayes, Matt Bergeron, Nick Saldiveri, and Jaxson Kirkland. Kirkland is an interesting prospect as he was a phenomenal player at guard this year, but dude is 6'7" and will probably move outside, but does come with flexibility the Cowboys admire in their OLinemen. He's been getting mocked late 4th to early to mid 5th round.

Looking up some late round guys. Keylon Stokes, WR from Tulsa looks like a good late round prospect. Good speed, lots of production, only 5’10” but is sturdy.

Two DT's Brodric Martin(6'5, 337) W. Kentucky and Jerrod Clark(6'4, 343) C. Carolina. Dallas will not draft a 1-tech early so one of these mammoth human beings on day 3 please.
Two Edges BJ Thompson(6'6, 240) SF Austin and Durrell Johnson(6'3, 240) Liberty. Small school guys. They are Gumby rushers with a lot of try hard, they would be a good replacement for Fowler and a project for Quinn to work with.
Two DB's Jason Taylor ll(6'0, 210) Oklahoma St. and Nic Jones(6'0, 190) Ball State. Dallas is heavy with safeties that are more SS types than FS. Hooker is probably the only true FS on the roster. Taylor fits that role and Jones is a corner but I think his skillset translates well to FS. Day 3 picks.

Cedrice Paillant OG Marshall

Kemarri Averett TE Bethune- Cookman

I love Keion White…but is he a top 26 prospect? Might be debatable. Highly doubt he gets anywhere close to our 2nd tho.

Karl Brooks DT from Bowling Green is 1 of my favorite mid round guys. Needs technique work keeping his pads low, but he’s big, quick and powerful. 20 sacks in his last 24 games games played.

Also really like JL Skinner S from Boise State. 6’4 211 S that really likes to hit and while he’s not going to cover WR’s 1 on 1 or play the single high, I see him as perfect for developing to play the Kearse roll in our D.

Skinner has too many tangibles to fall below the second round. He would have showed off in the senior bowl if it weren't for a family emergency. If DQ wanted another piece to mix in his chaos defense Skinner could fit in multiple places. I like him as a learning replacement for Kearse like you said. Perfect player to slot in as a replacement player to keep this top def going.

Better odds he turns out like Osa than Donald. Can't spend a 1st on that unfortunately.
