Nick Foles - Had a great rookie year. Philly traded away Desean Jackson and then Macclin and were surprised that he took a step back. Then he went to the Rams where Fisher the QB destroyer worked his magic. Texas kid, still young, probably could live with being Romo's backup and at the same time still could develop into a potential starter down the line and could step in if Romo was injured. St Louis likely wants to move up to draft a QB this draft.

We give them pick 4 for Pick 15, Pick 45, pick 76 and Foles. We gain two picks in the top 100 and remove QB as a need or possibly do, if he works out. The diff in value is 90 points so it is the equivalent of giving them a high 4th rd pick for Foles.

Josh Mccown - Proven to have some potential. Never really had a chance in a good situation. Always playing under duress for bad teams.

We send them pick 101- they send us pick 141 and McCown. A diff of 60.5 points or a late 4th rd pick.

These two plus the previously mentioned Glennon deal are some options for us to find a suitable backup that could possibly develop behind Romo all of which would be upgrades over what we have right now at the no 2 spot.

Shouldn't be looking for a backup. Should be looking for the future.

Yeah but you never know where the future guys is going to come from. You can draft a guy at four but a ton of guys who go that high fail

Much more likely grabbing the best prospects in a given year than trying to make due with an extreme long shot or a proven scrub as a backup. Multiply that "tons of guys" by a factor of 10 when you don't go high for a QB.

Go high for a guy who won't play unless Romo is hurt? Smart

If it means we have a real shot to get a franchise type QB in a few years instead of trying to win with the Cassels or Weedens of the football world. Very smart.
