Victor Hampton and Kelcy Quarles for questioning in connection with a beating that took place at a Manhattan nightclub, according to the New York Daily News.

The Daily News cites police as saying Hampton and Quarles -- both prospects hoping to get picked in May's NFL Draft -- were at Greenhouse on Friday night. At this point, it's unclear who beat Haver, and the two players are just being sought as witnesses.

Quarles, however, told GoGamecocks.com that while he was in New York, he wasn't at Greenhouse on Friday night and didn't take part in a fight.

"I'm (mad) about it because it's going to hurt my draft status," Quarles said. "I'm about to do everything I possibly can to get my name cleared because it's not fair. I had nothing to do with this."

well we will see ?

Just cause he's sought as a witness doesn't mean he's done anything. I'll wait til we hear more info before judging him in any way

yes - but still being out until 3 a.m.

with less than month to the draft

well you just throw away your POSSIBLE future

at least smart people don't

Hopefully this pushes him into the 4th so we can scoop him up. I think he'd be a good fit in Marinelli's scheme. Melton's incident didn't seem to scare the front office too much so we'll see....provided nothing further actually come out of course.

I like Quarles. Hopefully, this is not something that will hold the young man back too much.

When I was his age I was out until 3 every weekend and some weeknights.
