can’t imagine that happens all that often with success but we ended up with two of them. Chris Covington and Joel Lanning as an UDFA. Both only played LB one season so both are raw but they both put up good numbers for being so new to the position. As thin as we are at LB they should get a ton of reps. It’ll be interesting to keep tabs on these two

We used to get Quarterbacks who used to be pitchers. That didn't work out so now we're getting linebackers who used to be quarterbacks. And a tight end that used to be power forward.

I love the Lanning story and glad we are bringing him in. Long shot to make roster or practice squad. In his one year of defense he put up good numbers. Maybe with a few years on a practice squad, you may have something.

Chris Covington was a LB for 3 years.

They were both running QBs.

A handful of wide receivers who used to be quarterbacks, too. And a... whatever position Woody Dantzler played for us after being a QB.

I should add that when I saw Lanning play a game or two while watching Big 12 games nothing really stuck out abut him regarding his play. Although, he was productive and being so new to the position that is noteworthy. I am sure at times he had no idea what he was doing out there.
