Two states that are too hard to spell

I've never spelled Mississippi wrong because when I was a kid, there was some stupid thing that broke it down like this: Mi - ssi - ssi - ppi which makes it incredibly easy to remember.

Now don't asked me to spell Massachusetts. What idiot named that state.
