1. Tony IN the pocket, can he throw in the pocket?? or does he have to break out everytime? I don't recall many stand and fires from him , except for the Sidelines outs to TO. I know he's only about 6 foot, and I wonder if teams watch that Giants game and say "Lets only rush four and make him beat us IN the pocket."
I know I'm overthinking there but I'm just wondering.

2. Julius Jones , is this guy done? where's his confidence these days? he can't feel too good being taken out in every scoring chance , right? as well as 3rd downs. I really really think this guy needs a TD next week, he needs to do something big for the club and have the team meet him as he comes off the field after a big TD. That's important IMO.
If JJ doesn't get it going, then Barber kinda loses his "thunder" a bit b/c he'll be playing more than we want.

I think Romo is fine in the pocket....he's made plenty of throws in the pocket....it just that the ones that are more memorable are the ones when he was scrambling such as yesterdays pass to Witten.

As far as a RB not getting TD's down by the goal line....think about Barry Sanders....most of his TD's came from further out than 10 yards....he was routinely pulled in goal-line situations.

I've seen plenty of throws from the pocket, and not just the short ones. What about the long pass that TO dropped against Washington? He has no choice but to roll out when the pocket is collapsing.

Would you rather he turn to stone back there like Bledsoe?

Regarding JJ, I agree that he needs to get going. He has lost his thunder the past month. Parcells stated in a press conference that he is actively trying to get JJ to anticipate less, and follow his blocks. The problem is that the blockers aren't doing their jobs, and JJ is thinking too much.

In 2004, he was relying on his anticipation. Parcells wants him to trust his blockers.

no. 1 I'm more worried about the play of our Free Safeties.

no. 2 The missed tackles we showed at times yesterday.

First of all, Tony is every bit of 6 ft. 2 in; second, the majority of his passes are from the pocket, so what games are you watching, ; and last but not least, yes, you "think" too much.

As for your second question, uh, your thinking too much. :)

Romo performs very well in the pocket.

As far as Julius scoring - he hasn't scored a TD at Texas Stadium since 2004. I believe it was the Thanksgiving game against Chicago. Hard to believe, isn't it?

Your just confusing Romo's moving around in the pocket to avoid pressure with his need to escape the collapsing pocket. We're are lucky he has the mobility to do both--something which limited Bledsoe. BTW: Read a Saints forum and they very confident they can handle Romo and claim it's because he has "happy feet". Those guys obviously haven't a clue. Bledsoe was called a statue by his many detractors and now detractors label Romo with "happy feet". Makes you want to laugh.

Man you must've enjoyed seeing the QB sacks with Bledsoe behind center because the offensive line hasn't be stellar. Romo brings quick feet and the "IT" factor into the huddle!

How many quik slants ala the colts and bucs games does he need to throw from in the pocket..........

Gints saw a perceived weakness or lack of comfort zone in rollout to his left, and they tried to push him that way...........

Hitting the big one to Witten will be looked at on alot of film

How exactly does one achieve a QB rating over 100 and complete 68% of their passes over 6 games if supposedly never completed a pass in the pocket? He's made all 200 pass attempts on the run?

1.I don't think he's had 1 pass tipped at the LOS.

2.When your oline sucks, you're not safe in the pocket.

3.We can stretch the field now because when you buy more time in the pocket, it gives you as a receiver more time to get opened.

4. Tons of big plays have come from the pocket.

True... plus when he scrambles... the play is usually more ad lib... with bigger BIG PLAY potential..... whereas in the pocket... it has to happen in so many seconds and route is run to completion.. hopefully

You might be right. The only tipped pass I can think of was the one on a rollout that Strahan tipped and turned into an INT.

I think JJ has been ruined by BP. Also I think JJ is pressing a bit, he hasn't scored in a while and he tries to hit a homerun every carry he gets and usually gets tackled for a minimal gain. JJ confidence is shot but I guess BP is not going to do anything to change it.

I could have bought this argument at the start of this season. But Julius was rollin' through the first five or so weeks. He was among the league's leading players from scrimmage.

I would have believed the notion -- and, in fact, suggested the very thing -- that between Julius' rookie season and the start of this season, Parcells made him a more cautious and less instinctive back.

But Julius wouldn't have started this year in the manner he did if that were the case. He just wouldn't have.

I think he's either hurt, worn down, can't see the holes or a predictable back that teams can stop. I don't think you can pin his lack of playmaking on Parcells.

Not really that hard to believe considering Jones isn't that great of a back and doesn't seem to have the vision or nose for the end zone that Barber does.

But then again he has that elite speed.. even though he can't seem to use it much to break off any of those long runs.

The reason Romo moved out of the pocket on several plays was because the Oline was playing like complete and utter crap..

Give Romo TIME and He's 10Xs more deadly...Give the Giants Credit for the passrush.
