This isn't the complete answer, but there is no doubt the dline needs bodies and there are two players who might be available given there pending FA status who might help the 'Boys:

Alan Branch-DT 6'3 325lbs
Brian Robison DE 6'3 260lbs

I think Branch especially would be a welcome addition given his size and knowledge of this defense. The Bills are on there third string QB, will probably waive the white flag shortly and can use an extra pick or two.

We would have to restructure some contracts, and I'm not sure you can do that midseason.

Well, I love Both of these players but I doubt we can do it. Nice to think about though.

Dallas isn't in a position to make these moves.

Denver might need to make these moves but not Dallas.
We can't sell out to win with 8-8 type talent.

While everyone hates it Dallas needs to stay the course and hope for another good draft class next year.
Free up money with Ratliff/Spencer/Austin contracts --even if you bring one back at a reduced rate.

I agree 100%.

Truth is, this division is bad enough that 8-8 will win it. Aim for the playoffs, and take your chances once there.

This team needs a lot more than Alan Branch or Brian Robison long term.

I would call jax and offer a fifth for Jason babin. Maybe over the rest of the season he could get us 5 to 7 sacks and be part of the rotation.

Agreed. So far, the current draft class is looking strong with Frederick and Williams. Escobar might even work out.

If the value is there, DL help and another guard would be nice.

If we made a move for one of those players (which we could if we wanted to) it would come back to bite us in the rear in 5 months. Not sure how much that would help our team either. I'd rather get our guys healthy and add from the draft.

Seymour wanted a big contract right? Although I think he did say he would play for any team but the Patriots haha. Babin would be a nice pickup....

Why exactly would it bite the Cowboys? They are pending FA's, the cost would be minimal.

This team should win this division, and once you're in who knows what can happen. If there is a year to do it, I would think this is it.

The offense has the potential to light up anyone on any given day.

I wonder what Miles Austin could fetch in a trade. Yesterday proved this passing game doesn't need him to thrive. An Austin-for-Jason Babin swap sounds fair if a draft pick or two is also involved (maybe Dallas sends Jacksonville a fifth rounder for a fourth in the deal??)

i think you offer orton to the bills and see if you can get either what the OP said or byrd for orton. they could use a bus driver.

not like orton is gonna win us anything if Romo gets hurt anyhow.
