Two worrisome OL and DL issues remain

It looks like we are having lingering issues from previous seasons regarding the Oline and Dline:
The OLine can't get good or consistent good push and seem to be getting handled by defenses.
The interior DLine still lacks sufficient body mass/ability to hold the point of attack and get pushed back way to often.

The Oline has just never been the same in the run game since Ron Leary left.

I guess I need to see more McGovern but it’s a big reason I’m not a fan of Connor Williams. He gets the job done but that’s about it.

I need to watch more of Biadazczczszc.

The OL worries me more at this point that the DL.
The ends are solid and hopefully the middle can hold up.

Smith and Collins don't look the same so far. Without a legit swing tackle, that is a recipe for disaster again.

With the QBs backup QBs playing, defenses just stacked the box vs the run.
- In the preseason there is not penalty for stacking the box vs the run or blitzing multiple extra players is obvious passing situations.

OLine and Special Teams are the hardest groups to coach during the preseason because playing as a unit is critical and that's difficult with multiple players in the lineups.

honestly until we have all the starters out there playing together its kinda hard to say one way or another...i certainly get the worry but were going to look a lot different in two weeks than we have...or at least thats what we all hope

I watched the first team OL again during the Texans game. What I saw was they seem to be able to get the job done individually, but there was no cohesion yet. Collins looks rusty. But they can move people. The lack of success creating holes was the result of not working as a unit. For example, on one play where Maliek Collins broke free and make a TFL, it looked like no one blocked him. Somehow they each picked up a man but no one picked up Collins. This is the kind of thing that can be corrected the more they play together I think. I thought Tyron looked better blocking in the running game than I have seen him in a few years. Biadasz looked okay. If they stay healthy they will become a strength in time, IMO.

I try to see the season boiling down to both lines of scrimmage as well.

Defensively, need to fully get home and not just pressure from the edges. The middle HAS TO plug and stop the run to enable the LBs free roam.

Offensively, can only hope and pray Smith and Collins hold up at tackle for the full season. Fear this more than the defensive line concerns. If losing one or both of these tackles I fear
both protection issues and no scoring.

The result is too many 3 and outs and a very tired defense that will eventually break down because of being on the field too much.
.

It wouldn't surprise me if the defense of this team flipped identities with the offense and became the stronger of the 2 units. Wouldn't that be a trip.

Not sure we got the right coaches to call an effective running game to support a stingy defense though.

Oh well,

Cowboys! lol

Teams play Dallas up tight and run their linebackers downhill because this isn't a downfield big-play offense. Teams dare Dallas to go deep.

Let's wait on the pass rush judgement when Lawrence and the whole crew plays more.

Plus, today's offenses get the ball out so fast, it's hard to get pressure.

sheeeee......quiet....
You'll anger the Cowboys police here if you don't think the OL is top notch.
