Profiles are strikingly similar. Biggg DT's with incredible athleticism, strong against the run but raw as pass rushers. Which do you prefer
Williams is 100% a NT IMO.I got Grant because he's huge n strong on the interior and forces double teams. Grant is a true NT, exactly what Dallas needs.
Williams is a guy I'd play at 3T because I want two 320+ guys at DT, and his athleticism allows that.
Context for my line of thinking is, if Mike Zimmer is your DC Ty Williams could very well be a 3T. Kevin n Pat Williams were NTs by most standards, but Zim has a different template.Williams is 100% a NT IMO.
Is this a good comparison, both are higher end run players day 1, but believe Grant has more of an upside as a three down playerProfiles are strikingly similar. Biggg DT's with incredible athleticism, strong against the run but raw as pass rushers. Which do you prefer
Maybe…but Williams is a big dude and a dog against the run. More than capable to be a NT IMO. Love Grant too.Context for my line of thinking is, if Mike Zimmer is your DC Ty Williams could very well be a 3T. Kevin n Pat Williams were NTs by most standards, but Zim has a different template.

Ok cool, I thought those guys played under Zim, appreciate that. Anyway, Zim said in a presser when he was first hired he needed more big guys in the middle, so get more big guys in the middle. What template?
Zimmer was hired in Minnesota in 2014!
Pat Williams last season in Minny and the league was 2010!
Kevin Williams last season in Minny was 2013. At 6’5 311 it was the only season he spent time playing 1tech (due to injuries) and it went badly for him by most accounts!
Linval Joseph 325, and Shariff Floyd 297 were the starting DTs in 14 and 15!
I do remember Zimmer playing Joseph and the other former Giant forget his name. TomlinsonContext for my line of thinking is, if Mike Zimmer is your DC Ty Williams could very well be a 3T. Kevin n Pat Williams were NTs by most standards, but Zim has a different template.
Williams reminds me some of Vea.
I think I would give Tyleik Williams a slight edge over Grant, but I honestly like both of these dudes more than I ever did Mazi when he was coming out. I had to do mental gymnastics to convince myself Mazi was actually any good at Michigan; he had a few splash plays but most of the time he was just a guy that was slow off the ball and surprisingly off his spot.
Thank you! LolWilliams is from my hometown and I coached against him. He was not easy to gameplan against and dominated us.
Williams all day everyday for me
Probably the most productive 3t to play for Zimmer during his career was Geno Atkins 6’1 292.Ok cool, I thought those guys played under Zim, appreciate that. Anyway, Zim said in a presser when he was first hired he needed more big guys in the middle, so get more big guys in the middle.
