Tyler Booker is a Cowboy

It takes two to dance. There is a strong possibility that a trade down wasn't available. This isn't a fantasy mock.
I think they wanted this guy if he was there at 12, and if it looked like he was going to be there
then they blew off the trade down.
This was the specific guy they wanted, and probably thought if they traded down some other team
will take him.

It is the only thing that makes sense of it.

I will add that we now have 2 of the best guards in NFC ?? Both named Tyler lol.
It should help the run game and pass blocking, and deal with the phil and wash DEF lines.

No one is trading in this draft. There has only been 1
Ok there it is, there were some trade ups as it got down in lower rounds , and some earlier too,
like cleveland traded down a little, giants traded up later.
I think shotty wanted this guy specifically.

The Cowboys coaches have been talking about having a violent and physical identity and Booker gives them that up front. This pick shouldn't be a surprise. I like it

I do like tha we didn't pick a RB in the first round. Too much meat left on the bone in the later rounds.
I could have lived with Hampton, but was OK waiting until the second. I thought we'd address WR in the first.

I had dismissed the OL need because I thought it was low on the list. Felt we were good enough at that position compared to others. (No doubt Booker improves us, though).

My pick would have been DT Derrick Harmon or WR Matthew Golden, but considering that Harmon went 21st and Golden 23rd, I can accept that maybe Booker was the better pick. I certainly don't think he'll bust. Just may not move the needle much if we don't improve the backs who will be running behind him.

Since, throughout our 30-year deluded fandom to which we have grown accustomed low-rushing expectations, I find me thoughts turning to a strong, stout FB who keeps the chains moving. Not particularly as the Moose was, but stronger and meaner. :)
But, before the indignant respond, get a mean FB in the late rounds

I always say keep building the trenches, like the pick.
If the only way you can build the trenches is to use first and 2nd round picks, you suck at your job.

The people defending this should explain to me why they don't spend nearly as much resources on the defensive line.

I am sure Booker will be a good player, but I want impact at important positions from my premium picks.
