Drafted by Cowboys Tyler Booker is a Cowboy

I don’t hate the player, but the philosophy of this pick is what bothers me most. Let’s convince ourselves that our qb is elite, pay him elite money, tell the world he’s elite, but then use premium picks to make sure he’s the most secure passer in the league. Mahomes is constantly escaping and improvising bc he actually is elite and the Chiefs can use picks elsewhere.

I would rather have selected Sanders in the 3rd than continue down this path. There’s probably an 80% chance Dak gets hurt this season, and we are all pretending it’s still 2016 and anything can happen.

I don’t hate this pick, but they might have still got him and picked up a 2nd trading with Houston. It’s just not that valuable a player to not take that chance
The value to trade down that far was not there. And I doubt Booker would have been there.

What Houston offered was 400 points difference, a loss of value.
Trade down difference was 720 points, they offered a pick of only 320 points.

Fans scream to make the trade, but if they did, they would scream how big of idiots they were to make it.

Smart move by Dallas not to accept.

Tbh I felt the team goal is to get the ball out of Dak's hands and actually maul people at the line of scrimmage running successfully for a change. A trade down would have been nice but no idea if Booker would have been there.

Reasonable answer. But whoever the QB is, he needs protection and an OL that can facilitate a running game. It's that or the QB needs to be a magician. Either way you need to give a QB what he needs.
Romo had a RB that broke the single season Cowboys rushing record and did nothing with him.

Dak had Zeke who won the rushing title 2 of his first 3 years in the NFL (would've been 3 in a row if not for the suspension) and did nothing with it.

Nothing matters if you do not have a QB and the Cowboys have not had a QB since Aikman.

The very scary thing is Jones thinks he's been serious about every QB since Aikman.
I mean the Jone boys think that every year the Cowboys are a contender and somehow just drafting and throwing a star on your helmet makes you elite.

Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, Joe Flacco, Nick Foles
Mathew Stafford, Eli, Jalen Hurts all have rings
makes your drivel as ridiculous as it gets

MEANWHILE
Dan Marino
Jim Kelly
Both of them do not have rings

which makes your drivel even worse

Look up Jim Kelly’s Super Bowl stats real quick.

Booker was not a reach.
Position wise he was, not as a player. Yes that matters, there’s a reason long snappers aren’t taken in the 1st round even if they are generational. Guards typically aren’t worth the same as other positions, we know that from draft value and position salary, it’s just fact. Usually if they are they have the possibility of playing tackle but booker is a straight guard. Great player but it’s easiest to find starting or even quality guards later in the draft.
