Tyler Booker looking to bring ferocity to the OL

https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/...bring-same-ferocity-to-cowboys-offensive-line

We need this type of leadership, they been lacking.
Hope he can back it up.
We've been talking about it it would have been nice at 15 to 18 but couldn't find anyone to trade down this guy is a solid pick but let's not forget Hoffman was resigned dudes got all kinds of attitude got that bully thing going on I think the only way to make this make sense is to move Tyler Smith out to left tackle, Put Hoffman at left guard can you imagine the center of that line

Hoffman-Beebee-Booker I think this was the plan last year when they put BB in there to be better than Tyler Biadsz yep another Tyler.. He he's bigger and stronger in the middle than our other center was now you got Hoffman is a mauler he may not be big but he's got attitude and now this dude is just straight up football player prototypical guard but he can also pass block so yeah it's a good choice but the rest of their plant needs to unfold for everyone to actually let this go because it feels like a kick in the nuts but lots of things are going to happen by Tuesday and we'll all be in a better mood I believe except for all the guys I have on ignore.LOL.

So you are benching Guyton?

Smith - Beebe - Booker will be a very good interior OL.

Guyton will improve in year 2, and under better coaching. Steele will be better being 2 years in from his injury recovery.

Hoffman, Bass, Richards will be pretty good depth.
That leaves 1 or 2 spots open for a few other to develop. Either the FA's they signed, of a few draft picks from the last few years.

Where exactly does he play, has anyone heard if he plays both sides (position flex)

Is he given the job right away, or do they play the game where he's on the depth chart at camp etc until the season starts then BAM he's the starter. In camp they like to play all the other guys in front of our 1st round rookies, as if we didn't draft that rookie to be our starter. Saw them do this to Micah/Guyton/Smith etc!

No first they're going to give it a try as is, but I'm telling you the parachute would be moving Tyler Smith the left tackle and letting and Guyton/Steele fight for the right tackle starter position... i'm not saying that's how they start camp I'm saying they could end it that way if going into the season they feel it necessary that's what we're going to do that's the best 5..

Smith-Hoffman-Beebee-Booker-Guyton/Steele winner

This cannot be Mr Mike Mccarthy and his staff using eight games into the regular season before they realize where they went wrong with the offensive line in the run game this has to be settled in camp!!!!

I don’t think the ‘best five’ includes Steele, but he is going to play due to his contract. Doubt he is on the team after this season, and I’d applaud loudly if they found a trade for him. Was never a fan.

The wild card is Guyton. Says he is more comfortable on the left side, but became a first round talent on the right….and maybe isn’t quite good enough to be a starting NFL LT.

I would move Smith to LT and Guyton to RT (which has been said 6000 times here) but I’m not sure the team feels that way. I all along suspected they were keeping him at guard to sign him cheaper, but I’m not so sure. I think they want him inside, but that means Guyton at LT and I dunno there.

Smith-Bass-Bebee-Booker-Guyton

That feels right to me. Just not a Steele fan, even before the injury.

RG, replaces Martin.

I think it will depend on how Guyton approached the offseason. If he comes in ready and proves he can take that next step, leave him at LT. If not, slide Smith out to LT and have Guyton/Steele compete at RT. Steele performed well later in the season and I have hope that he can return to form. IF Guyton continues to develop (there were positive signs last year), this OL is going to be nasty. If not, there are options on the table to move guys around and build a better than adequate offensive front. Haven't been this excited about the OL since Smith/Martin/Fred on rookie deals.

OK for starters, they found someone. They couldn't make a deal.

Yes Hoffman has attitude.

Again, Tyler is not going to LT. He just isn't.

Hoffman UFA soon.

Yeah, if Hunter can play cornerback and wide receiver, why can't Booker play guard and nose tackle? Bring back the two-way!

Tyron. Martin. Those HOF guys didn't bring leadership?
They did, in a way, but seemed to have dropped off.
Tyron constant injuries did not help. And Martin's contract dispute, I feel that took away some of his. He just became another player after that.

I'm sure Booker will bring the ferocity and leadership that Z. Martin never had . I can see you guys are going to hype this one up to biblical proportions. He'll be the second best guard on a team who took their best guard 12 picks later and who actually offers positional versatility. Booker is a guard only, probably a right guard only, and yes...he'll probably be a little better than Hoffman.

It was a fear pick. Fear of picking the wrong guy, fear of taking chances, and fear of the NFC East defensive lines. It was as always with Dallas a reactionary counter pick to what the rest of the NFL is doing. No creativity, no forethought, and no imagination. "Hey Stephen" "Yes Father what is it" "Did you see how good the Eagles defensive line is" "Yes Daddy I did. Perhaps we should draft an O lineman" "I concur sweet son of mine". This is pretty much the way I view the War Room or what Dallas calls the Situational Awareness room conversation going.
